EQ2 Anyone?

in Vanguard: Saga of Heroes

After watching the newest video.. it reminds me of EQ2 with the movement spellcasting/graphics, I hope they can pull it off. Not bashing on the game, but does anyone else see that, or am I just crazy?

    I have heard this numerous times and I can honestly say no, I don't see it. The models don't look like claymation in any way. The only similarity I can see for myself is that the world looks breathtaking and vibrant. Also it doesn't look like WoW, well besides the UI.

    Heard this before, whilst I agree there are some similarities graphically, there are very few.

    As for game play, the FAQ point in a completely different direction.

    Now playing: VG (after a long break from MMORPGS)
    Played for more than a month: Darkfall online, Vanguard SOH, Everquest, Horizons, WoW, SWG, Everquest II, Eve

    what exactly should it look like?  would you prefer WOW, whew, no thank you.  personnally, i find the graphics hot.  there are some side by side comparsions on some of the info sites about Vanguard.  im not going to find them for you.  but Brad has linked them in the Truth thread sticky.  they compare the graphics of EQII side by side to the models of Vanguard.  and hell no, they dont look that much alike.

    I've never had much of a problem with eq2. It just wasn't the game for me. There seems to be alot of ppl who just think it's uncool to like eq2.

    wow.. after reading just a couple of posts in this forum.. i can already see that you are just a simple Vangaurd and Brad fanboi incapable of actual discussion.

    do you have pom poms that say BR on one and AD on the other too?

    Vanguard's graphics can best be described as similar to EQ2, only with more style and character. Especially in the armor and monster designs. EQ2 has graphics that look like what something would really be like in real life, not a fantasy world really. It's not bad at all, but just very cut and dry to almost being bland in colors, etc. Vanguard looks way more fun and alive in it's graphics if you ask me.

    To the OP, the grpahics has much much improved thats for sure image.

    The graphics are MUCH different, and completely un-cartoonie. Similarities would be genera based.

    I'll start my own SWG... with Black Jack... and Hookers!!!

    Why is it that anyone who has something good to say about this game is a fanboi?  Does this mean your a fanboi of the people who make the games you like?
    Brad has stated numerous times that yes there will be similarity between Vanguard and EQ1 or EQ2 do to the FACT that some of the developer's worked on these games. I can see Brads frustration with many of the forums because everyone keeps beating a dead horse.
    I like the graphics and I also liked EQ2 graphics however I only played EQ2 for 6 months because it just didnt have all I was looking for. Vanguard seems to have a lot of good things that are similiar to other games but all compacted into one..Vanguard. Seems to me it is worth taking a look at.

    Hmm yeah, the grafic is smooth. The humanoids have both legs and arms.
    Sun goes up and down and you can visit citys.
    You can wield a sword or cast magic. You can even heal.
    Also you can fight monsters or group with youre friends.

    you get my point :)

    Well, I'm going to buy this game anyway.  Just someone please tell me there is no "Horrible Wheel" like they have in EQ2.
