Is game good for casual play?

HuriaHuria Member Posts: 311
I am just wondering, me and my fiancee are looking for an  MMO that doesn't take over our lives like ones before have. We have decided a max of 2-4 hours a day on a game is good and are wondering if this can be played and get somewhere in that amount of time.

I understand we won't be hitting the level cap, raiding non-stop, etc. we just want to make friends  have fun a  little bit each night. we want it to be a game not a life. Any info wouldbe great! Also if this is not can you please suggest another? We did WoW but we got sick of that, and it was taking up to much time as we were raiding.

Thanks!

Deespite some rumours i can assure you that EQ2 is very casual friendly.

If you decide to play it and this turns out not to be so be sure to message me with insults.

On release it was heavily group oriented but nowdays there is so much questing thats soloable it will take to you to level 70 and still you would not have done most of it.

Apart from questing which is so extensive and killing ,You could always do dungeon crawls and ppl tend to group and arrive quickly. No "i got to go eat for an hour" as do many mmorpg. And as your friend's list grow you find it much easier to move to a dungeon if you wish. Also try using the guild button which gives a list of guilds recruiting, the officers to contact, what the requirements are, what the guild play style is etc.You always find a guild that match your time and play style.

Then ofc there is crafting which can be great fun espically when you got maybe just 30 mins or so to play at a go.I am also a big fan of the collectables .

The community is very mature and friendly and i can say only a small minority of the player base even care about raiding at all.I suggest you pick a pve server .You will find the occasional pick up group to raid some dragon if you wish .

I'm a casual player and I love EQ2.  I try to play an hour or two a day, but usually make it only 3-4 hours on my days off.  It is a blast!  It helps if you have a good guild also.image

I shoot for the curve... anything above that is gravy.

Its been keeping me going for two years as a casual player, so i would say it is very casual friendly.

long as you're not wanting to rush to top level soon as possible, it's great. i've been playing for about 3 months, got a lvl 43 char, but not been rushing at all, only usually on for 3-4 hours a day, and only 1 or 2 days a week some times.

2 to 4 hours a nite is about normal play 2 or less hours is more like casual play.

but yes with 2 or 4 hours a nite if you keep busy durning those hours then leveling questing and such should move you to level cap in no time.  with your alotted time frame you could easily do some group instances or even raid since raid force is cut down to 24 people.  There is only a few raids that take longer but that is usually do to either poor gear, poor guild dps, or many afks through out the trash clearing.

i used to play about as much as you propose and i had no problem at least getting to do all parts of the game.  Raid guilds are still out of the question though, they raid 24/7 and that wouldnt work with your schedule but in this game its not a needed thing like in eq1 to live the game.
