When I leave the starter island...Some advice would be nice since I was expecting quite a fun game :P

Vangard will rule ?????????
please stop that crap advertising ,,, this is at the end of day EQ2 forum not VANGARD
and go back and look at it again ,Vangard has got dreadfull models ,low poligons, lo resolution, terible texture , and animation is so avarage ,,, in fact its all together visually an agly game ....
well vangards' gameplay sounds promising ,,, and that could save the game
if you ask me playing vangard will be like shaging an agly prostitute, enjoy the good sex as long as you dont care what she visually looks like
ummmm........
VANGUARDS GONNA RULE!!!!!!!!!!!
hehe......

level 4 and bored already..........
believe it or not the island is the funnest part till ya hit about level 20, should of seen the island i started out on with only 4 sub classes to choose from. The island was actually redisgned to hook people into eq2 in that magical 30 minute first impression. Not much will change through out the game.
All mobs feel like the exact same fight, except raid mobs. Most quest are all about the kill x amount of said mob. Your heritage quest while interesting the first time loose thier luster fast, specially when they got the bright idea to make people raid to finish some of them.
Eq2 was suppossed to be the game for casual mmo players ......... the people that play a little less then your hardcore sorts. Well with sonys design team, they decided the game should also be extremely easy, look at current patches ....... making mobs that were hard easier.
kk lets see what ya used to do when leaving the starter isle for fun ..... level up to 20, armor quest ( have fun getting a group for this), now start your armor tradeskilling since you cant afford the lower level armor on broker, go hunt rare pelts, flowers, ore .......... do this once evey tier or ten levels. Get up to 30, do dungeons probally same one over and over since that will be where the only group action is, repeat at forty, repeat at 50, repeat at 60, repeat up to and past 70 ........... at least now at 70 you can raid ............ ok go repeat that raid .........
Wait did i mention the fun and lore of HQ's ? there are a few that are interesting but i think that is mostly from my eq1 standpoint. Even then its only once then its old news, so what one type of quest that will mildly intrest you hmmmm, they call it everquest for a reason this is true there is a reason they dont call it Ever Interesting/fun/enjoyible Quest as well.
From your post it seems like you are wanting to be talked into this game, why? Play the game, get your opinion. All thats gonna happen here is you will hear GO BUY THE GAME IT R0x0RS.
I can tell you this in summary, if you are looking for an awe inspiring fantastic world full of life and adventure ........ dont get eq2 ............. if you are looking for something to pass the time while waiting for this great and wonderful mmorpg, then play eq2 ......... it will make the next MMO look that much more fantastic.
What are you, 12, or just retarded? Shouldn't you be playing WoW?
Any new game that is semi-decent and approaches the genre in a serious manner (unlike WOW's cartoonish, modern, tongue-in-cheek B.S.) is likely going to rule. I've been camping in WOW for two years, waiting for something better.
I do have many issues with some of the design choices Vanguard displays on its public website, but I'm going to give the game a whirl anyway. What else is there to play that will even come close?
"A starving man will eat anything. Even fried armadillo is like steak to a starving man. Dried boogers are like croutons on a salad to a starving man."
im this many........
just curious, how would what i wrote automaticly make me either 12 or retarded or playing WOW? jump to insults much? btw, all you gotta do is look at me user info and you can tell im not 12. lol, and read any of me posts and tell that im not playing WOW. lol, so the only thing left is retarded. i have no answer for that. so maybe i am, lol, at least i dont insult everyone i meet. im pretty secure in meself, that it doesnt bother me if you think that im retarded, so.......
VANGUARDS GONNA RULE, YAHOOOOOO!!!

I agree with the earlier comments about the Island being a bore. It's more of a tutorial than anything. When there I cant help but feel I'm in a petting zoo. But once you get off the Island then you see the true majesty of EQ2. When I make a new character I dont even mess with the Island and instead go straight to the starting city.
I think SoE is shooting themselves in the foot by using that Island as a free trial. I had 2 friends give the free trial a whirl and they ran back to WoW because they hated it.
I like the look
the classes
the customization
just need to switch
