Puddle Of HinderBack... Hinder Sucks.

goneglockingoneglockin Member UncommonPosts: 706

So have you heard the new vag rock band Hinder?  (yes vag as in vagina)  It's music to make chicks feel tough- because they already got the right to vote and equal wages... as if that wasn't enough now they gotta drive full size pick up trucks and get their own rock and roll music.

I don't think I'd be so irritated about this if it wasn't getting play on my local rock station- but it is- and it sucks.  For one thing, I noticed Hinder was on VH1's top ten charts in the number 4 spot last month- do you know who they were sandwiched by?

Justin fuggin Timberlake and Nickleback.  It's vag music.  I don't think even flaming gay men listen to this stuff.

I think the Hinder song that irritates me the most is their one song that basically got them out of that podunk midwestern state they came from... Lips of an Angel.  If people ever bothered to ponder the lyrics- they'd realize what a spineless little ninny the song writer is.

Honey why you calling me so late?
It's kinda hard to talk right now.
Honey why are you crying? Is everything okay?
I gotta whisper 'cause I can't be too loud

Well, my girl's in the next room
Sometimes I wish she was you
I guess we never really moved on
It's really good to hear your voice saying my name
It sounds so sweet
Coming from the lips of an angel
Hearing those words it makes me weak

So what do you see wrong here?  I'll tell ya what I see.  It's a song about a guy who has insecurity issues- and needs to be in an a relationship; any relationship- to feel better about himself.  Don't you see- this is why chicks dig this stuff...  It's music written by and revolving around emasculated males with no self respect!  And they love it!  It's practically anti-rock... but here it is- on my local rock station- driving me crazy.

Man- if these losers did not win the music industry lottery that instantly catapults any shmuck with a senseless jingle that appeals to the largest demographic of people who still buy CDs; (teenage girls by the way) the best gigs they'd ever have would be playing at their local equivalent of the "Rainbow Room" to lesbians who need a good a laugh at some pathetic examples of men.

Hope you got your things together. Hope you are quite prepared to die. Looks like we're in for nasty weather. ... There's a bad moon on the rise.

The lyrics aren't nearly as bad as his voice (sounds like he's takinga dump the whole song), and how gay he moves when he sings.

What greater tribute to free will than the power to question the highest of authority? What greater display of loyalty than blind faith? What greater gift than free will? What greater love than loyalty?

Well if nothing else this thread should end up interesting. Never heard of the song so checking the video. Just remember the record company's problems all come from piracy, not that this mess being released to be a major hit. Although I like the part in the video where he says "I wish she was you" or something along those lines while the blond is standing right by him.

Buy headphones than and listen to something else.

And besides, not everyone must hate Hinder or think they suck. If they did, they wouldn't be playing the music. ;D

    Everyone has different tastes.

I like vag rock, and penis rock ( Yes, I said P-E-N-I-S ) it just depends on the songs. Oo

People don't have different tastes.  There's right (me) and wrong (everyone else).

Every girl that I know and have talked to about this song really likes it, until I tell them that it's about a guy wanting to cheat on his girlfriend...suddenly they go with the "oh well I didn't pay attention to the lyrics" line...how the hell can you say that you like a song without even knowing what the dude is talking about??

Your argument is like a two legged dog with an eating disorder...weak and unbalanced.

Lol. I have a female friend that im with practically every day, and she plays Lips Of An Angel in the car EVERY DAY. My fucking god. She has a boyfriend too, and for some reason she's falling in love with this song and she doesn't even really know what the song is saying. She just says she likes his voice.

I told her what the song was about...like..i showed her the lyrics (is it that hard to figure out?) and she's like "so? he sings good".

I gave up. I told her i'd punch her in the boob if she ever played that in the car if i was with her. She stopped lol.

    /agree Hinder's bad... Really bad.

I hear them way WAY too much at the bar I work at. Then when I go to another bar/club after, they're playing more Hinder T_T It's actually getting pretty damn rediculous what passes at Rock these days... Let alone music!

You'll find Hinder on the top of rock charts everywhere, overshadowing bands like Tool (wtf!?). How can those two bands even be compared!?

    *Sigh* I really hate where music's going~

It's good to see that I am not alone.  The reason for Hinder; and all the crap like it flooding the airwaves these days- is because the record company pimps have been hit hard by piracy.  Same thing is happening to the movies.

It's been true for a while now- that teenagers spend more on movies and music than any other demographic.  With CDs- teenage girls are the biggest spenders.  This is why you are having Hinder shoved down your throat.  With movies though- it's pretty close between teenage males/females... but you will notice for instance...  that there can be 4 Aliens movies; 2 Predator movies- ALL RATED "R"...  then all of a sudden internet piracy takes off; and Aliens VS. Predator comes out- and surprise!  It's PG-13!!!

It's so blatantly obvious that the movies and music industry are pandering to children to stay alive. Until the business model changes to where they don't have to rely on kids' allowances or money from their McJobs- the entertainment industry in general is just going to produce more of the same shit to throw onto the big ass heaping pile of it they've been building since 1997.

The internet- a blessing and a curse.

Hope you got your things together. Hope you are quite prepared to die. Looks like we're in for nasty weather. ... There's a bad moon on the rise.

Comparing Tool to Hinder is an insult to lyric writers everywhere...Tool songs have more depth than most bands can ever achieve.

All three bands you mixed together in your title suck.

  • ZorvanZorvan Member CommonPosts: 8,912

This is why I don't listen to the radio or watch VH1 or any other music channel on t.v.. I prefer to listen to music I like and listening/watching 20-30 piss poor songs/videos before one comes on I like just doesn't cut it for me.

It's like the song Milkshake from a few years ago. It seemed like every freaking girl loved the song, and none of them had a clue what it was about. One day a guy in our Digital Media Production class spoke up and told everyone. It got very quiet afterwards.

Does anyone notice how he waves his hand like a retard next to his face when he sings into the microphone?  I think he might be alittle fucked up.
