I wonder if maybe by the time the last few weeks of a beta are being done as simply advertising? I made dozens of bug reports in the last 4 years of beta fun and recieved exactly 2 commments from the GM.s or developers.

Usually bugs are quite well known anyway, and in iRO. LoM and Pristontale they remained there for a Lonnnnggg time.

I do agree testing is not all fun but it has it's appeal anyway. You run amok till you get stuck in a rock or something, get an email sent off then run amok again. Minus the twirling propellor beany cap~

Most of your points are well taken. As far as my retarded ass going to a communist country, I don't think so. Once again, I am not saying beta testing is ONLY FOR TESTING and NO FUN. I'm saying those that cannot lose a simple contest without it being the end of the world will do NO GOOD for the beta test. I've beta'ed for years now, and its ALWAYS mostly just playing. But if you're ONLY there to play, you have very little to contribute to beta.

And ALL I'm saying is that these rediculous people who were insanely sore losers didn't deserve it. Whatever else you feel like conjectureing from that statement is your own personal problem::::02::

I really hope that *insert game name here* will be the first game to ever live up to all of its pre-release promises, maintain a manageable hype level and have a clean release. Just don't expect me to hold my breath.

now THERES a thought!!!!!! it would seem that the betas that have been going on as of late ARE just publicity stunts to get more people into their game. I'm not yet in the CoH beta, so in this particular instance, thats all this beta might be.

I know in Wish, and Freeworld, the devs are so invloved you get to know them on an almost personal basis. In the Lineage beta, they aren't as involved, since I came during what is probably their "numbers testing" period.

And I 100% agree that beta isn't NO FUN. Of course its not like that!!!! Why would anyone do it? I just don't feel those who lost their minds over losing a contest are there for anything but their own funl
