Voted Judas Priest for the great music they made in the 80s, up to and including the Painkiller album. But some of the other choices came close (Blind Guardian, Slayer, Iron Maiden, Iced Earth). I also agree with the guys who missed Dream Theater on the list.
But if the question was "what is the best metal band today", I'd choose Blind Guardian from the list and nominate a few other bands for inclusion:
