And yes I have played the game. I still have the original old dusty box sitting amongst others on the desk here. One of the nicest game boxes I've seen actually. I was in the beta and played after release for a little while before moving on. Funnily enough even back then people were upset with SWG & SOE albeit for completely different reasons.

Statistics are what brings the moderators in here so often. There are more offences committed in this forum than in any other on our site. No, we don't catch everything, and for that I'm sorry. If there is a percieved bias against the folks in this forum, I am also sorry. It's not based out of an opinion on what happened. If there is a bias, it's because of the number of offences that happen here on a daily basis. That DOES NOT make it right, and we are trying to fix it.
I, and the other moderators also realize that there are a large number of people here who do not abuse our rules. To you, I sincerely apologise. Sometimes it's hard to see the forest through the trees.

ParaTrooper, that line about the folks in this forum was pretty messed up. I believe you didn't mean it the way it ended up sounding though. I would just point out that this group has been through SOE and back. If we were found to be hypersensitive about this kind of thing, it woudln't surprise me.
I saw it mentioned that this forum requires more care than the others. Perhaps a little more thought about what is done here should be part of that care if the goal is effective moderation.

Made a post that you thought twice about? I have been trying to hang in there by trying to see both sides ... but this is making you lose points in my eyes ... at least for me it is.
MMORPG.com is in a tough spot. Like I have said before, there is ALOT of people that come here to the SWG forums to see what is going on. The SWG forums have SIGNIFICANTLY more anti NGE and anti $OE people here than fanbois. Add to it the contorversy surrounding SWG and others "curiosity" factor, and you are getting some nice exposure to other MMO games here. Those companies are benefiting from former SWG players looking at their game is a marketing plus for MMORPG.com. (just yesterday I looked at a couple in Developement. Stargate Worlds caught my eye.)
$OE may be threatening to pull their advertising money out of here ... who knows ... I sure don't. But if it were me? (which it isn't) I would find a diplomatic way to say, "That is your choice." Now if $OE did infact pull their advertising money from this site .. the ENTIRE MMO world would know and it would have a worse effect on $OE. I mean really let's face it, $OE can not get any better exposure from any other MMO site, that I am aware of. Maybe the pressure from the Refugee forum is drawing too much negativity to $OE and it is effecting their ability to sell their product?
Of course this is all speculation and no one really knows except the Staff here and $OE. One thing is for sure tho ... if MMORPG.com is friendly to the Refugees from SWG ... that could potentially be a HUGE subscriber list that can be used for marketing purposes. (Which would make all the other MMO's VERY happy.)

Of course this is all speculation and no one really knows except the Staff here and $OE. One thing is for sure tho ... if MMORPG.com is friendly to the Refugees from SWG ... that could potentially be a HUGE subscriber list that can be used for marketing purposes. (Which would make all the other MMO's VERY happy.)
