I guess Ill make this quick. I rejoined recently and item insurance is the worst thing out of all the other horrible new things that are out now. My favorite part of pvp used to be the disposable nature of your equipment. It kept everyone on a level playing field, but now you can insure any number of ridiculous items that could potentially double your power with no risk besides a few thousand gold pieces. All of the obsurd magic rings and armors and weapons could be much more bearable if you could lose them, but now its no better then any other mmorpg, where the person with the best equipment wins. Also, the amount of crafted items are much lower then before, i guess when you dont need a new pair of armor every time you die the demand for these items goes down.
Is this the answer? A bunch of gimmicks. Events solely for the purpose of offering new items? And the storyline...
Really though, why havnt they released a shard with an older ruleset? Perhaps even allow that shard to evolve separately, with events that dont involve ninjas and samurai.

Item insurance can be a annoyin considering u pay the same insure fee to secure an artifact and a crappy piece. Despite that fact, insurance is necessary, otherwise artifacts will be only for deco cause noone will use them in pvp. Maybe a diferent insurance system should be implemented, based on item value. And ofc better profits to thoose who PvP.
Does Seige still allow 1 item to be insured. Doesn't it also have blessed items?! Gives basically the same effect. Also to the person who said no one would use artifacts:
When vanq weapons were the most rare/expensive things in the game, the good pvpers still went out with them. This gave them an edge in pvp, but was also good for the people trying to gain revenge. Pks had a habit of being ganged up on by the blue players, and thus would lose their super weapons to some lucky player
There is one issue, that sammy helms and ember leggings from 7th anniversary are still blessed (however the ones after and with 9th anniversary are not). The dev team addressed that they won't unbless them as of yet because they need to see what's the best way to balance armor as a whole before doing so.
These two items aren't needed however, and there a lot of people who fight without them and still kick butt. Most people wear GM crafted armor on Siege Perilous.
