It might seem like a funny question, but I have to read a lot for university and I like to play civilization while reading. I read a few pages, play a turn or two, and so on.
Do you also do it, and what games do you play while reading/studying?
I'm just asking, because I'm looking for other games to play that can allow me to read at the same time.

Great game, each 'session' can take extremely long time, depending on your settings. Think risk, just a whole lot more complex.
How would you gain any isk that way? Without isk's, you can't buy new skill books nor spaceships

Hmm.. It would be more interresting if he could play Tetris while studying.
Gameloading is right here.
EvE is prolly the "best option" for someone doing something else at the same moment, most of the time.
Games like CoH would prolly be possible, but when you are studying, your toon stand idle and do nothing, which mean you won't progress while you are studying...sooo not really the best for that type of gameplay, where you need to be pro-active.

He would be better off with Heroes 5 than EVE, for sure.
Your argument is like a two legged dog with an eating disorder...weak and unbalanced.
I was gonna say Doctor, but then again, that all depends on who your study-buddy is... Not effective for the grades, but a hell of a lot more fun.
For computers, I would say chess on a high setting. The computer makes the same moves, it just takes longer to do it...like it is trying to fool you that it was actually thinking about the moves more.

EVE.
I just started EVE. I mine at work !!!!!!!!!!!!!!. This was my first day lmao.
It goes like this.
1. Make sure no one is looking, log onto EVE - minimize and look like i'm doing something.
2. Maximize EVE, click undock, minimize and look like i'm doing something
3. 30 seconds letter, maximize, warp to 15 km to asteroid belt. minimize and look like i'm doing something.
4. Look at overview pick best asteroid, click lock target and approach, minimize, look pretty while doing some "work" i.e. checking these forums
5. Come back when you're within range, open cargo, click on mining turret, minimize for awhile and check back to see if your asteroid is depleted. Rinse and repeat, check back to see if cargo is full.
Also,
I mined while i watch football, I read Sci-fi, and mine or I trade. Look at the market, decide where I want to buy low, see it, buy it, set destination, read, i reach my destination, dock, read, pick up payload, set destination, hit auto-pilot, and read, reach destinatiion, dock, read, hit station, sell for higher price, glory in the profit you made, rinse and repeat.
One my questoin a game where most of the time you don't want to be playing, but this is "the grind" making the money, the more fun part comes later on when you start negotiating iwth people and get into the politics nad take more daring steps into zero space. This is my 5th day of EVE but that's what's going to happen.
I used to play Lineage 2 friggin stupid grind fest galore. Play the market for hundreds of hours with 100% attention, some loser equals your wealth in 5 minutes off ebay . . . YAYAYAYYAY BBQ. Grind orgy till you hit lvl 75, whereas you're always skill grinding in EVE automatically, all you ahve to do is log in and change skills.
I shoudl have listened to my friend and played EVE not L2 when i was picking between the two.
