I had the same idea. But decided against it.

Vanguard comes to soon, and it would be a shame to just enter MMO and leave it...

    Same.

Gave up on L2 and was going to go back to EQ2 (I played when it first came out) for the EoF expansion, but I figured I would try EVE Online first. I think I will be there for awhile.

However, I suspect Vanguard is at least 3 months from release (maybe more), so I don't see why one would be opposed to giving the new expansion a whirl. I'm looking forward to Vanguard, but I'll probably give the EQ2 expansion a spin if I can pull myself away from EVE. Doesn't look like it at the moment (especially with Revelations coming online soon), but ya never know. ;)

I gave up reading most of the original post due to the massive internet spawned grammatical errors.

I'm sorry, but the brainiac in me wants to scream at the lazy retard for shortening words from 3 letters to 2.

Don't hold your breath or anything, it should be spring 2007 but then again I remember when it was autum 2006 or was that winter? I forget now since Vanguard has been coming out for so long, still better to release a finished product than a half done bug fest!

Yes, i guess you are right.

It would be miracle if Vanguard is released before spring time. Why the hell can they not set a firm date...
All this waiting is driving me insane...

Mmmm more paid expansions by SOE
One of these days they'll wake up and realize that people are getting sick of paying a monthly fee and being expected to fork out even more for content that should really be covered by the fee they already pay.

Yup.  Either charge me for each expansion and don't charge me a monthly fee (guildwars), or charge me a monthly fee but make all expansions free (eve).  Buying the initial game for $50, then paying a monthly subscription, and then on top of that buying expansions (eq, wow) is ridiculous.

What if Vanguard is not your cup of tea?

I mean if you wanna give EQ2 EoF a try, since people say it's really good expansion, just play it.

You don't have to wait until Vanguard comes out and you don't even know if  it's a good game or not unless you're a best tester.

How many expansion Everquest 2 had so far, and do they all add a lot of content?

I don't see what's wrong with expansions ; you buy them if you want, or you don't.

Don't buy it simple as that. Many like it and are happy to pay for it .And looking  how much free content has been added to EQ2 i see no reason why they should not charge for an expansion like many companies do.

Maybe the reason eve does not charge for expansion is the game is void as it is image

Im not getting sick of it, im happy to buy an expansion when it comes.  Think about it, 3 expansions in 2 years, not a lot of money really in the long run eh.

I don't know what the eq2 expansions are like and don't mind the idea of paying for expansions but I did dislike most of the eq1 expansions that didn't add content so much as replace old content by providing zones that were double the speed to level up in and new equipment that was so much better then the old that it effectively rendered even the best of the old equipment obsalete except for twinking a low level alt.
