in EVE Online
EVE is down for 24 hours so its zzzz whilst patch is applied so i have to do normal internet things in gametime.
Just came by to admire that fact that its STILL a top rated game which STILL holds the record for most players online at one time,
and on a single shard at that
seems a lot of people like to make "I tried EVE and it was teh ghey" posts in here,
i think they are just looking for more people to join their Orc hunting or sword crafting or w/e,
if you are looking to start an MMORPG there is only one, and its name is EVE online.
ignore all the posts about "cant catch up with vets," "all of space is already owned," "i thought EVE was good buts it actually not and heres why:."
My background: started with a ZX81, had a ZX spectrum, then a spectrum+.
Moved onto BBC micros, then an atari ST and finally to PCs.
I have owned megadrives, playstations and x-boxes (and one SNES
).
On all of them I have played games for as long as I can remember.
I feel this qualifies me to make a balanced decision about whether EVE online is a 'good' game or not.
In short if you have no patience, no love of space games, no love of MMORPGs then dont bother.

well i see so many EVE bashing posts it looked like time someone made a pro-EvE post.

And ofc eve is great. Then again it killed all the other games for me. They all seem so simply and stupid now.
not saying to go the whole stratics route, but maybe a bit along those lines?
yes i know there are links under the game section, but that's not on the forums, nor would those links have people posting on the forums...

could we please get correspondent writers and moderators, on the eve forum at mmorpg.com, who are well-versed on eve-online and aren't just passersby pushing buttons? pretty please?
fairies have drons man you gotta believe me..... wait.. would they be elves and the drones the fairies? hmm and the minmatar are just orcs.. oh yeah and the caldari... mmmm barbarians.. and the Amarr? wait who cares about bible thumpin monastarians who keep the afore mentioned orcs as slaves/pets

A while ago I always wondered... why do so many people play eve, I kept thinking "it wasnt that great when I was beta testing it... but even back than it got raving reviews"
Well, recently I came back and gave it a worth while shot... actually stuck with it for a couple weeks and all I can say is oh my god..
EVE = Best mmorpg I have ever played now :]
and ive played alot of mmorpg's..

In my opinion, it has the best mmorpg experience on the market for the past 3 years.
That is with out a doubt the one thing I'll always be thankfull for the SWG:NGE. After all that is the reason I now play EVE, and had it not come I would probably still be playing in a sub-standard MMO, and missing one of the best on the market.
PS- I hate elves, but yeah ok, I'm Gallente...

I'm right there with ya. NGE was the death of the second best MMO ever to be created. EVE Online by far is the best mmo I've ever played and I've played a lot and tried even more!
p.s. I like elves; The ones with tremedously large boobies !!
