Actually I loathe the forum mods in EVE from top to bottom, from Kieron on down. The culture is nepotistic, favoritism-dominated and not even passingly objective. It's basically a ship of fools being directed by a jackass.
I love CCP and have the highest respect for most of them, but Kieron and his team suck the big one, big time.
Heh, I got my second account banned for posting with an alt in Corps&Alliances.
I posted in the thread, it was moved by a mod to Corps&Alliances, and then a different mod sent me my last warning for posting with an unidentified alt in that forum.

ISD is fantastic.
What Ive found with them is that if they get annoyed at you for any reason, they will seriously increase the scrutiny, tag you with some insignificant infractions and use that to ban you. Now I've never been banned, but I've known a few people who have been banned for shit reasons.
They should not have a volunteer group performing this function number one, it is a conflict of interest. Number two, Kieron should be fired.

you're one of the eve-o forum mods? what name?
could we please get correspondent writers and moderators, on the eve forum at mmorpg.com, who are well-versed on eve-online and aren't just passersby pushing buttons? pretty please?
is the interstellar services department, or whatever that name is... is that a corp ingame with those wonderful mods in it?
edited: who is over them? as in, over this captain uly person. i don't want to communicate with him, and he refuses to tell me his supervisor's name/email/anything. if he's top of the chain, who does that department report to?
i hate dealing with peons.

It's Kieron, and then over Kieron is Oveur. Don't expect to be treated well or fairly by either of those two.

not sure what planet you guys are from, but by my not filling an email with profanity, i'm showing all the restraint that customers are required to have -- ever -- anyplace. especially if they're not satisfied with a product.
wtf indeed.
WRONG!!! Just because you're paying for a service doesn't give you the right to verbally abuse someone. If you came into a place I ran IRL and pulled that shit I'd tell you to get the fuck out of my store.
Retard
you've obviously never worked a help desk.
take your sign, move along. you're totally, completely, and unreservedly WRONG.

take your sign, move along. you're totally, completely, and unreservedly WRONG. Depends on the type of business. If its small family-type, then yeah, if the customer is being mean and abusive, the owner can be mean in return too, up to the point of saying "GET THE F*K OUR OF HERE OR I CALL THE COPS".

some mod in colored typing: don't discuss buying isk, this is your warning.
In this case I would rephrase mod's msg to something like this: "Be advised, discussing buying isk for real money is a punishable offence.". I would definitely not say "this is your warning", but i dont find that comment too offencive or even personal. He didnt say anyone specific. He just said a general FYI msg, not phrazed well, but not extremely bad either.

but, again, there i go, thinking with my wallet.
You have to understand this, CSR are people too. They are paid (or not) to help, but will NOT tolerate any insult towards them. Just because u r a paying customer, you are NOT doing them a favour by NOT shouting or cursing at them. That SHOULD be a norm. As a telecom CSR, i get a fair share of shouting/cursing customers, and you know what I do? I just hang up. Is it polite? Maybe not. Im hired to help people, not to take abuse. Paying customer or not, you must learn to respect those people who are trying to help you. Whether they are competent or not, thats a dif topic.
I am the type of player where I like to do everything and anything from time to time.
guess you'll hang up on them until they start remembering your name and reporting you to your supervisor. unless you're not actually doing that job, or you just give fake names, or you're at a disreputable business.
sometimes, even when they cuss, you have to take it.
it's the nature of real life and business and dealing with people who pay for a service your company provides.
have whatever opinion you want. you hang up on me, i'll have jotted your name down and ask to immediately speak to a supervisor when i call back. enough of those calls, and you have no job.

Heh, exactly what M_Doomhammer said: our supervisor gave us those instructions. If anyone is being offencive towards CSRs, we dont have to take it. Theres a general misconception that customer can do whatever they want. Sorry, thats not true. There are rules that everyone should follow.
