I didn't even last the first month online. Paid $10 bucks to go online. Played for 5 days. Quit for good. Redoing the same dungeon 50 times over and over is just not fun. With this SEGA left a bitter taste in my mouth and I don't think I will ever buy another game from them ever again.

Yes, there were a LOAD of people during launch. Most of them either got bored or had the "omg hackers this game sux" mentality.  I know a lot of people who switched to X360 from PC/PS2 version just because of the hacking. It's on a rather low scale now, though.

All you really need are 5 friends to enjoy the game. Partner cards help communication out a lot. It helps to talk to friends/people about other things during missions and grindfests to keep monotony off your mind, really. I find that if you keep grinding away you go into a trance and don't mind it at all, at least i'm like that. However, I usually have to turn off the sound because it gives me a headache with all the slashing, banging, exploding and ground shaking noises.

The people who say there is "no content" and "OMG we need new stuff NAO!" are the people who play for 12 hours a day and burn themselves out in a few days after an update.

We're getting a huge update on Jan. 12 but alas it requires more grinding and farming.

And for those who say that doing the same mission 50 times is boring, SEGA isn't forcing you to do the same thing over and over. There are other missions you know. It's just that the particular mission is the most efficient so everyone does that. Don't hate the game, hate the players.

Get a group of friends, go try some other missions out instead of sitting in Raffon killing dragons all day.

    Riddle me this.

Fact 1: I live in Europe.

Fact 2: I get 20-40 ms ping to local game servers

Fact 3: I get 150-300 ms ping to all american mmo's I've ever played.

Fact 4: I get 1000-1500 ms ping to PSU. A traceroute reveals that I get about 250ms up until one of the 4 last hops, where one of the routers give me an additional 900 ms.

How the heck would a better connection help me? I'm so sick and tired of all the "LOLZ GET A BETUR CONECSJUN NUBZ" flames when there is no way whatsoever for me to fix that router over in north america giving me 900ms.

15 megabyte fiber optic. I still had lag issues.

Personally, I gave up playing after a week or so because PSU was essentially the same game as PSO, which was a really cool game. On the Dreamcast. Seven years ago.

If the pricing had been similar to the original PSO (two bucks a month), I'd probably have stayed around and played a little longer before bailing, but...ten bucks a month was just way too much money to do the same crap over and over , ad nauseum. I could buy a new tack hammer each month for that kind of money, and nail my lower lip to my dining room table, and then have loads more fun trying to pull the nail out with my teeth than playing PSU.
