Rapid Reality as a company

This is a look at Rapid reality as a company. Around 9 months ago i payed a measily 20 dollars so that I would have the chance to play "The Chronicle". Near the beginning of november with little to no information "for the whole 9 months"  on the game from the beta site they tell the community that they are selling the game to a developer. If you ask me this is the worst company in the MMO industry. They have let there fan base down and now sell out because they are trying to make too many games at once. I dont mind the 20 dollars because its not a big deal its the 9 months I waited for them to tell me they are selling it to another developer.

I run a small business in canada and i have never lied to a customer even if the news was going to be bad or hurtfull to the company. As for Rapid when you payed for closed beta they said you would get a shirt and hat and such i forget exactly what it was but i never recieved my items, which is also not a big deal but another lie something more to mistrust them. On my closing is this not one of the worst MMo company's or in fact one of the worst game companys to come around. I am sure most of the mmocenter/ The chonicle community will agree with me. Are there Any other company's that have done this before? If so which company's and what do you think of this company any ideas are welcomed.

Looks like it's time for another Dark and Light trashing.  The D&L forum here at mmorpg.com is a good place to start.

Doesn't sound like your experience holds a candle to Mourning or Dark and Light. Not to say you didn't experience poor treatment, but there have been far worse cases out there.

Rapid Reality had SCAM written all over it from day 0 !

Oter companies make MMOs in 4-5 years, we will do it in 4-5 monts! And not only one , but 5 MMOs!

Belive that , and next thing you are going to belive is that there is radio transmiter in your head

Big j doesn't even hit the tip of what RR has done or explain how poor this company is with dealing with a customer base or developing a game. They are every bit as bad as D&L if not worse because the game has ended up vaporware. The game shouldn't even be listed on mmorpg.com because it has been taken out of production.

I can't stress enough that no one should ever pre order a MMOG. Giving ANY developer money before they have released a product is just plain stupid.

Having said that, I still don't understand why MMORPG.com isn't looking out for their members by having a sticky disclaimer in forums for scam games like the Chronicle, to warn unsuspecting gamers of what has clearly been established as fraud.
