I don't know, but the e-mails state "free to play" and "10 day trial" at the same time. Either they just couldn't express their intent clearly (which I have no trouble believing) or it is a cleverly worded trial and you can "play for free" for 10 days. Either way, I wouldn't waste the bandwidth or hard drive space.

You guys' are fucking tools. It amazes me how some of you people function in life. The email is perfectly clear...
You still have to buy the box in retail stores ($30 now I think) and it's now free to play, no CC required (think Guild Wars minus the gay instancing).
For those who do not want to rush out and buy the box, myself included, there is a 10-day trial where we can test it out. I am currently downloading the trial. If we like the trial, we just need to buy a retail box and upgrade are accounts to retail, that's it, no CC info because it's free to play.

Secondly, no, I'm not a "shill." I'm received the same email everyone else did who was in on beta on this game. I didn't like it during beta, and I still don't really like it. I'm merely correcting the many idiots in this thread.
All I can say to this "news" is im not surprised and its not enough to bring me back, I am so glad I pulled out a week b4 release and cancelled my preorder, one day they may get it right but it wont be today.

funny thing is, it isn't dead in Korea, and its actually doing absolutely GREAT in China.
Guild Wars used that system from day one. ArchLord released and is now changing their sytem a few months in because of lack of interest/subscribers. Bit of a difference there.
There are games completely free that are of better or equal quality to this, in my opinion. Why should the average gamer pay $30-50 when they can play something else that's just as good and fun to them for $0?
I'm not the only one with that train of thought. Go take a look at the official forums and see how active they are nowadays. When I was a moderator before and during beta the place was booming with activity. Now it's like a shell of its former self, which is sad if you spent time there like myself and so many others did during those months, getting to know the community and helping form it.
This game had so much potential but tbh they really ruined it b4 release in my mind. The community was building up to be somethiing above par but the things this company does... it just takes some kind of retardation to be able to sit back and take it. Try it if you feel it might be fun but as previously stated it wasnt designed to be F2P codemasters has changed their plan so many times with this game it boggles the mind.
Normal monthly fee=>>credit system=>>normal monthly fee=>>free trial and im sure it wont be long b4 they either have to scrap the project entirely or find a way to try and salvage part of their investment by going free to play and hoping for some kind of monetary feedback from advertisements.
It's not the fact that the game is headed towards F2P that makes it a loser, it's basically everything they have and have not done since the game was a month into beta.

Normally i wouldn't just trust opinions without having seen it myself, but when almost everyone on this site says its awful and when almost every single game reviewer says it basically sucks (read gamespot review), then the situation is a bit different and i actually would believe that Archlord sucks, although i have never played it.
