Kudos to the people at mmorpg.com for combining guild wars and City of X the ranking now accuratly represents the best current mmorpg's on the market. Well everything except Ryzom which should be replaced by WoW. But stilll it's certainly an improvement !

Yeah, I am pretty amazed at how accurate the ratings at mmorpg.com feel. I definitely agree with the top 7 that are up right now, if I could rearrange them as I see fit I dont think I would.
Ryzom is a very good mmorpg though. I think WoW is a great game but I'm not surprised that it isnt on the top list. Maybe if it were to replace something, I would have it replace Final Fantasy. Final Fantasy is so repetitive and uninventive I dont really think it will sit on the top list for much longer. I'm nearly positive that Age of Conan will find a place on the top list when it is released, and probably Warhammer Online and Pirates of the Burning Sea will too, so FFXI probably wont be up much longer.
I would probably attribute WoWs poor ranking to their end game of raid/instanced item-hunting grind. I think it annoys a lot of people, even those who endure it. I guess the low system specs have helped WoW become very popular, but its graphics arent helping its rating either, probably. Nor its community, although the WoW community is probably at par with that of Guild Wars, players are much more dependent on other players in WoW, making the poor community much more visible. I wouldnt mind if WoW were on the top 7 list, but I think it would annoy me if it went higher than EVE, GW, or EQII... It would depress me if it went higher than DAoC, but DAoC is getting up there in years and it cant last forever
