Can anyone tell me what the jheck RAGNAROK is about, It looks cool but i'm not sure If I want to choose it as my one MMORPG....

Ragnarok Online? Hmmm... My older brother played it, but it didn't seem interesting. I think that only the helmet and weapon graphics show up on your character (body armor/clothes stay the same throughout your character's life). Correct me if I'm wrong. It seemed like a decent hack'n'slash game and I didn't pay enough attention to it in order to see what kind of community it had...

   I played the Ragnarok Online Alpha & Beta.. and might I add, they had one of the longest I have ever seen! There is little to practically no story involved here, you basically choose your sex (male or female) then pick some stats. You pick your stats wisely as they play a big role in advancing and your profession.

    You can sort of choose your profession (or 'guild') but you must complete a task before getting accepted. Leveling up... if that is the type of thing you're looking for, then it is fun. The graphics are sort of anime-cute-ish type of thing, 3d.. nice graphics IMO, I like the controls for the character and all of that.

    Is it a good game? Yes. Would I pay for it? Probably not! It just gets tiring killing pores for days on end. Sure, it does have a good trade market (when I played)... but you have to have a high level character to get the good stuff. Some fun magic spells, but overall.. it's up to you.

     Oh.. I almost forgot.. the NPC's did have a lot of english errors.. not sure if they fixed it. It was kind of funny though. Why don't you get the free 15 day trial? Give it a try.

Lets see, RO..
To be honest with you, I played this game for 15 minutes, I hated it and wanted to have nothing to do with it, the battle system wasnt complex enough for me.
Then, while at school the next day I was itching to play it, Dont ask me why I couldnt tell you.
Its a fair game, as I said the battle system is slow untill you learn your class skills around level 11 or so.
Huge map, several of towns, outskirts and dungeons to explore.
The only problem with RO is the lack of gameplay, and many people agree with me.

Also, Adreal there are different casual wears to choose from once your "Basic Skill" is so high, just wanted to confirm that.

RO intentionally shut out non-asian beta testers, because those from the USA were complaining about the many problems not geting fixed and the extraordinarily bad lag in game, (asian servers.) After baring all IP from the states for the remaining beta, near the end they decided to allow US people back in if we payed to play in the beta (ala SWG.) Manners are QUITE important in asian communities, and the yankees are renown for voicing their complaints, often rudely & often. At least in RO one could chase bunny rabbits & pink bubbles instead of those quick frogs in Lineage.
Fed up with that many decided to open their own (illegal) free servers.

ummm my opnion...go buy diablo2, RO is nothing but a MMO of it with worse graphics and less customization

I had fun playing alpha and all of beta..but when it came time to pay I was reminded of all the grief I went though (dupers, hackers, my character going from  lvl 70 to lvl 1, getting stuck in black holes and not being able to get out) that I thought it wasn't worth spending the money on :P

iRO has a FULL 3-D background, 2-D character aiii... The lag is still there sometimes worse than others-the international lag was not due to the ultra modern Korean?asian servers it was indirectly related to US security (envryption) packet checking or something or so was implied by GM. (I dunno I am not an expert)

The game has mass botting now, a kind of robot hack that allows the 15 day free trial to act as a item and money gathering ploy. The cheaters sit back and get rich!   IRO game data was stolen and shared online, thats where the hacks originate and free servers. (AKA trojan keylogger/ free server)

 

HOWEVER!! iRO has began a heavy duty campaign to eradicate cheats and update game data. There is PVP arena and quests, also Guild wars known as "war of emperium'.

I played since beta days my self and the game has a certain ...charm not to mention a rapid 'flicker' effect (Beware photo sensitive epileptic etc etc) that induces nice alpha waves. Say, so do most games now-a-days! I like alpha.

i played the private servers for a while...generally a good mmorpg...nothin too special deff not worth payin for, my advice: take advantage of the free trial...make yer own choice.

Well...I played 2 months (1 Beta, 1 Payed) i like it, Good graphics,Good Gameplay (Better to play together with others), you can have 3 Chars one with one and only Guild/Profession currently are 2 levels for each profession, All professions have their only Skills,Weapons.........

A Major update will be coming.....

Something interesting is that there will be a "tournament arena" where players can choose betwen "Monster Challenge" and "PvP".

Sometimes there are PvP Areas for a limited time.

I liked it.

Where are the FREE Servers at? Is there a way to search for them? I would try the game, but I definitely won't pay for it.
