Remember Motor City Online???

I used to play the heck out of that game and I thought it was a total blast through and through!  It was too bad EA decided to bring it down.  Would definitely like to see another game very similar resurface sometime though.  I bought the General Lee in MCO and it cost me like 500,000 dollars...then they stop the game!  /shrug....oh well.

MCO was my first online game. I kinda sucked at that game, but also didn't quite understand it really, since I wasn't a mechanic or anything. I love cars and customizing them though and I have drag raced in real life. My computer was just crap then and I lagged a lot. Once I got a better computer I found DAoC and never looked back.

I never played DAoC, but have heard good things.  I began my MMORG life with UO.  I played that for a while, then i quit the MMORG world for single player games like Morrowind and the Battlefield series of FPSs.  Now I'm back grinding away on WoW with my lvl 60 Warrior and am finding the non-raiding end-game stuff to be rather dull.  I have no time for raiding and end-game crud!

    sigh...

But remembering back to the days of MCO and UO, it all seemed a bit more laid-back and relaxing...I find WoW, especially when in large groups, to be somewhat stressful and for the most part disagreeable.  I will probably quit soon.  Oh well.

I had a few friends in EnB that played MCO. They were kicked out of MCO after the game ended and came to EnB. Then a few months later EnB ended and they were kicked out of that; double kicking action!

Basically I think MCO and EnB were ended on account of a game strategy to focus on large franchises and on nothing original. Now a few years later they are realizing they are running out of material to keep those franchises interesting. Hopefully these two games will be looked into once again. *crosses fingers*.

    Man,
do I agree with that!  I'd love to play MCO again...ah well,
though.  I know EA was focusing a lot on their "The Sims Online"
but I'm not sure how popular that game really is?  I played it for
a little bit, but I didn't like it becuase I was on 56K then and there
was tons of lag...basically the whole idea of the game is to build the
best house for people to come over and level up their skills...snore,
snore, snore!  Bottom line, didn't like TSO.
