To the OP.
Are you a bored housewife troll? Why does every post I see of yours palpably loathe games in the area you post? Does recent history in games that are MMO's released for console and PC show that PC versions are dumbed down and crap? NO. maybe for a shooter or a racing game, but I would love to see your evidence of 'Recent' say last 6 months of an MMO that is dual realeased and crap. The point being you generalize and have a harsh out look on games probably without playing them. Moreover, how can you just 'tick this off your list' without even reading a final review of the finished product. Your statement doesnt even specify that you have investigated AoC current known content and have an opinion on that. Why dont you do us all a huge favour, next time you want to condemn a game to your little list write a postscript at the bottom to research a bit more in the future.
How would AoC be dumbed down, when the Xbox 360 supports at least the key board and soon to be mouse? It's basically a PC with the in-expensive graphics. I find this thread, the OP, pretty much biased towards consoles.

I eagerly anticipate more information about some of the classes skills and such. It can be done on a platform with little problems, especially if it releases in another 1.5 years. I think the invention of a new keyboard would be useful here.
You call me evil. I call myself good. I call you dumb
I am looking forward to AoC, and do think this game will set a new standard for MMORPG in future. I dont belive it will fail to deliver since Funcom is making it.
i agree. funcom made anarchy online and i spend 2.5 years playing it hopefully i can do the same whit aoc it looks great and it should deliver great experience!
Well, I doubt the game will be crap, but the release on console does worry me too.
Just yesterday I was reading about oblivion, oblivion used to have very cheap official plug ins that made the game more fun released regularly. Now oblivion is coming to XBox 360, but they will only have one of these plug ins available to XBox 360 gamers because the XBox 360 is not up to carrying more than one of these plug ins at a time. Well, the plug ins arent even coming anymore, and that probably is unrelated to the console releases, but it worries me. If the XBox 360 version of Oblivion cant even handle more than one official plug in at a time, then how are updates going to work for games like AoC? Adding content is going to be harder for the AoC team because everytime they want to add something they need to ask themselves 'is this going to make the XBox 360 version lag?' While the PCs will continue to improve and be able to handle more complex graphics and additional content, the game will be unable to move forward with these updates because the XBox 360 cannot handle them.
As far as the games being 'seperate' I really doubt thats true, to whoever posted that. I'm sure the expansions and in game updates for the console version and the PC version will end up being the same even if console players arent on the same servers as PC gamers.
My guess is there will be two seperate versions of AoC, one for PC and one for Xbox360.
On the other side, I dont think we should worry too much, Funcom should by now, know that if they like to be on top of the gaming buisness, they have to do the right things. The mmorpg playerbase are getting more conscious of what they want in an MMORPG, and AoC will quickly turn to dust if Funcom doesnt listen to their customers.
It's coming to 360 : Recent history has been games that come out for PC and consoles are dumbed down and crap and usually very bad for PC. Tick this off my list

Do us a favour, and dont post again. This thread was just that stupid.
Technology is advancing, games are multiplatforming, MMOS are being introduced to console, only person who doesnt seem to be evoloving is you. Change isnt that scary, and what failed before doesnt mean it will fail again, trial and error kid, trial and error.
And its usually the console version of a game thats dumbed down, not the pc verson.
Allrightythen, ... I talked to one of the gamedevelopers and he assured me that this game will "in no way" need to be dumbed down because of the announcement that it's coming to the 360. The developement team is focused on all of it's previous goals for AoC, and will meet those goals. Just to be specific, he was not able to tell me any details whatsoever about the 360 verses PC version, but he was able to say that nothing has changed about the game due to the 360. And, there is no progress or intention to dumb down the game. I don't know this developer as a friend, only as an acquaintence, so the info I received was limited, but he told me that everything about this game is tight-lipped right now.
I personallly believe the PC version is what this game was created for, and if they are going to disappoint anyone it would be the 360 community. But, I also believe funcom will be able to utilize the 3.2 ghz triple core processor, with 2 threads per core. That should give them some fun stuff to play with. The console experience will be great for me because everyone on the console will have the same experience, unlike PC gamers whose experience will be based off their computer specs. Anyways, even if the game is a little different for the 360, I will never notice because this is my first MMO and it will be AWESOME!
Disagree. Example: SWG is the biggest dumbed down game there is, next to WoW I hear, and neither is for a console. I dont think that is even a factor. In fact 360 is basically the same as a comp and uses similar hardware, so why would it be significantly different
I am so looking forward to destroying console players by the dozens. Everyone knows the superiority of mouse control over gamepads for FPS style games and until they develop a similar type controler for consoles then console players will surely be ripe for the sowing. I just hope they don't "dumb" down the PC controls as often happens when games are ported from console to PC. This game is being developed for both simultaneously so who knows...
I will say however that whatever guild I decide to join will have a Teamspeak or Ventrilo requirement and you do know where that will leave console players don't you? That's right..., a disorganised rabble ripe for the slaughter.

Just so you know:
A.) Its not simultaneous development, its two different projects with two wildly different launch dates. The 360 version won't be out till summer '08 at the least
B.) Devs have directly, without fudging in the slightest, stated on multiple occaisions that the PC version is entirely unnafected, and certainly not dumbed down, by the 360 version's presence.

Umm yeah, that's what I am saying dude, two different projects being developed simultaneously. I didn't say anything about the launch date and because they are not developing it exlusively for one system and then "porting" to the other that means there should hopefully be no "dumbing" down the PC version. The console will no doubt be as "dumb" as usual and that's why I can't wait for the slaughter.
Oh yeah, I also want to say that I think having to wait till 3rd qurter really sucks.
Very true, but do you really think this could happen to an MMORPG? I can see it happening for Star Wars Battlefront II (well actually I DID see it) but I just can't see it happening to a MMORPG.
Gamepads, yuck! I share the fear of the op. Lots of games released for both platforms have been real lousy on the PC. Lets just hope Funcom can make out something good.
Only if they START on the consol
