I like the visuals but it's a shame the HTML / CSS coder doesn't know how to use the (X)HTML specification and the "Cascade" in CSS to it's fullest - the pages would be a lot lighter, faster and cheaper to host as well as stand a better chance at cross-browser compatibility.
I always view source, my humblest apologies - to attempt a redesign on such a huge and much-loved website was both a labour of love and thankless at the same time (by that I mean there's very little glory to be had for all the hours that went in to it).
Do please put your feet up, take the night off and have a beer!
My main gripe is that now the frontpage doesn't fit on my monitor anymore.
I'm the type of person that likes to have available information in view at the same time, for what I'm looking at. I bought myself a new monitor just so I could use 1280x1024 resolution because the majority of websites I visit fit in their entirity on the screen at that setting. Unfortunately your new look makes that no longer possible on your site and it's both annoying and disappointing to me. There's really new information than before and as a matter of fact there's less, yet it now takes up more space - and for no real reason. I feel sorry for folks that use lower resolutions because all of the added scrolling they'll have to do for less information than the previous layout. There's also really no reason to have the "recent news" in two areas, the scrolling graphics and next to it (where the missing recent post/most active thread used to be) a text listing of it.
Please tell me you're at least going to make it possible to view it full screened at 1280x1024 resolution sometime in the (hopefully near) future.

It isn't there.
This change was not for the better, it was one of my favorite features on the site....
This is going to make a re-appearence pretty soon, with a bit more too it.
One question, The most recent post and Active post, are not on the left side of this web, RECENT is a clock, and ACTIVE is one star, is that wat u r asking for? or is something else?
Originally posted by Draxonfly I duno.. The place looks alright, but I think the new layout looks 'cheap' ... Like a free default template you pick up from a web-template site.. not one that has actually been made just for mmorpg.com .. I also think the logo symbol need a bit of work for a top-shelf site like this.... Just my opinion...
I agree w/ all of that. Really does look like a cheap default template, IMO.
I like this new design, the old one was looking pretty outdated and boring :P This one seems a little bit more informative / easyer to use and (well at least on 1280x1024 TFT) its much better for my eyes.
I don't find it to be at all visually appealing, and in all honesty it looks like any other website. Kinda reminds me of all the free korean mmo's that come out that are all pretty much the same (imo).
This one has a really ... plastic feel. I don't know how else to describe it... maybe it's just because it's not the website that I've come to love, but a GQ version of it pasted on top.
--------- If there is a way...I'll find it. ---------
The layout is nice, colors are not hard to look at.
If I set my text size ( for me that is the smallest text size) to one that the right side of the words are not run off the edge and unviewable I can't see to read what is on the screen. The left handed section area needs to be adjustable by the viewer so they can make it small or larger so the chat can be resized for those that have a bit of trouble seeing small print.
*Sigh* Login times out now when replying to posts. I'm not certain what changed there, but I use to be able to spend 6 hours on a post (lol), and never once time-out on my login. Sheesh does it suck to spend an hour on a post to click *post* and see "your session has timed out," but then again, who really wants to read a long winded post anyway...maybe that change is good. LOL.
Overall - I don't like changes when it comes to my PC (website or otherwise) so I'm really screwed this week between IE doing whatever the hell they did with explorer and now mmorpg.com. So, nope, not happy with it, but know I'll forget all about what the site "use to look like" in a week from now. Ha ha!

Not good guys. I thought the old look was probaably the best and most professional looking gaming site on the web. This is a big step backwards. In the day of having more and more information accessible per screen, why go for less. And this is really tough on the eyes.
Yea first time i post in the forum I would like o say that i think the new design looks more professional, but thats my oppinion best site ever ! ive been a member a pretty long time ;d but never posted in teh forum. Time to do that ;D
I hate the new layout - it makes me visit this site less. The site no longer remembers user information (at least with my browser), it is clunky to load, and I see less information per screen.

I second this. I had to look twice after clicking Login to figure out what just happened. I'll throw my vote in on this one as well. It's not very obvious how to login since the change. Even after you put in your login and password - then what? I guess just hitting Enter works - since that's what I did - and I got logged in. Not very intuitive though, and definitely not as user friendly as the old login.

Go into you user account and check the little box that says Auto-Login and save it.
The new site looks alright to me. When a site being re-structured and re-designed, majority people would not be happy about it. The reason for that is coz most ppl need time to get adapt to new changes. I think new feel on site is cool despite all the troubles after
There might be a bit similarity in the logo with the rlmmo's but that doesn't mean it's been copied! <-- Just my opinion.
I would like to suggest something about Live Chat... I think it would be good to show how many ppl on live chat like before. This is because i normally go in live chat when there are ppl in it. Now I can't tell and need to load it, then find out... oh it's empty (
I have to say I hate the new graphics. It hurts my eyes to look at it. The old graphics felt more unique and mmo-ish while the new one feels like generic website number 4,000,000. I can't stand them and now only check the website every few days while before I would open the website and keep it up all day. I just can't bear to look at the new graphics.
