Is anyone else getting really bad lag inside the Labyrinth?
I went to the DAoC website and looked at the help page to see what the recommended (NOT the minimum) specs were and mine are more than what they have posted on there. So I don't understand what the heck is going on.
I sent an email to Mythic support and the only thing they told me was to /petition them where it is I'm lagging. But that's everywhere I've been in the Labyrinth so far.
I'm just curious if it's doing this for everyone. If so then maybe Mythic needs to look into it some more.
I remember when Shrouded Isles came out it had these same problems for a while, then there was this patch one day and it all went away. I wonder if they are working on something like that right now? Because at this point there are times in the Labyrinth when I can't even play.

I re-configured my profile to show my X-Fire logo in my sig. Click on it and look at my profile if you want to see what kind of computer I have. It's at the bottom of the profile screen.
Tell me what yours is though. I'm curious if it's something with computer or whatever. It's really frustrating because everytime I step into the Labyrinth I can't play. And it's the reason I reupped my subscription.
Someone else respond and let me know if their PC is doing the same lagging in Labyrinth as mine. I'm trying to determine if it's me or the game. If it's me then I'll just close my account until I can get some new hardware. If it's the game then I want to know that as well so I can look for updates to come.
Is no one responding because of this DAoC forum being dead lately, perhaps?
Anyone there?
AMD 64 X2 4800+, 256 DDR3 7600GT, 1 gig dual channel ram
But my wife doesn't have lag either, at least the type you have and hers is less than yours:
AMD 2600+, 756 ram, 6600GT.
The only time I recall massive amounts of lag for either of us was at
release with like 300+ people in the hub. Other than that it has
been fine for both of us.
If you can - call the support number. I have found that when
people have problems they tend to be resolved quicker and better by
being on the phone that way you can check things as they are on the
phone.
Since your wife is not getting lag then it must be something they can help me with. I hope so. I want to play but it's terrible. People moving all sporadically and when I turn the camera it just looks awful.
Thanks again for the advice. If I find out it's something that can be fixed I'll post what I find out here so someone else may benefit.
I called Mythic support last night and the technician got it working. He had me try updating my NIC drivers and that was the ticket!!! I don't understand how that worked, but it did. And I'm happy.
I also want to add that he was one of the nicest support people I have ever spoken to in any business. I was very impressed. I even sent Mythic an email to let them know how nice he was. I don't do that unless someone has done an exceptional job and he did.
I've run into the NIC card driver issue, but with WOW, not DAOC.....
Its true though, DAOC phone support is great..... (online, not so much...very long queues lately, especially after the expansion)

what was happening was basically a bug in your NIC driver and was being triggered somehow when you had the game running the new NIC driver probably had a fix to that bug. hope that helped
