Yeah, I hope that Jackson, Mitchell and Vala are all in the new series in some way. Or, it would be nice to FINALLY see Daniel get to do some research on Atlantis. I know he's been there briefly looking for the Ancient weapon, but come on, give the poor guy a break, hehe. Maybe we can have Sam and Daniel on Atlantis and Cam and Vala on the new show. (C'mon! Give poor Claudia Black and Ben Browder a freakin' BREAK! Stop cancelling their shows!)
They could do away with Vala, and I wouldn't miss her a bit!

At first I did not like Atlantis and I could not figure out why... Then RDA left SG-1 and it hit me, people like to see the faces and the names they know in a series, just like when they make the movies, if they change the Actors are you going to be as excited about them as you are now? The new faces are a big reason (Not so new now) that people do not like Atlantis I think. It took me a bit, but I like Atlantis, and the crew there of. To bad they are going to (Or have depending on where you live) Dr Becket... that guy is awesome, especially when he and Rodney go at it...
Lets hope that the new series will bring some new faces along with some old ones...

Hmm...let's see what would be a great premise for a new SG series? I think it will be Mitchell and Vala, as they were the new faces to SG-1. They said SG-A and the new series would feature interaction with SGW, that should be...interesting...not sure if it'll be good, but should be interesting...
Stargate:New Worlds...
a team which jumps from gate to gate without returning to the mountain...
I would be really shocked if any of the current SG-1 cast makes it over to the new stargate show. If they do it will be Mitch and Vala but I doubt Michael, Amanda, or Christoper will go over to the new series and there two good reasons for this. The first being that they would need to pay them lots of money that they could save going with a completely new cast. Two it would be rather redundent to do a new TV series and recycle the old cast, that was what they were doing with stargate in season 9, but the ratings have been going down hill, not every one like the idea of Richard Dean Anderson leaving the cast, pluse think some people didn't like the whole Ori story line.
Sorry just telling you like it is, don't be shocked when Michael doesnt appear as cast member in the new stargate show.
Star Trek did it, no one complained over new characters back then did they? Ben Sisko, Kira Nerys, Quark, Odo and Bashir or Janeway, Tuvok or Paris or even Picard, Data and LaForge.
no one even complained when Star Wars changed characters every film and no one complained when, the BSG original from 1960s and thier cast did not feture in this moderm version did they? no.
anyway, the only reason why i watch it is because; it is entertaining and the story line is good, otherwise i would of just left my tv off.
Man didn't knew that!!! Well Awesome news.... I hope RDA will show up in the new series. I love him in the SG-1 Series. But I wanna know what enemy they will get now... Another unbeatable enemy like the Ori??? I surely dont hope so. I think they need to come with a great concept to make this work...
I do not thing the New 3rd Series is going to have any of the old cast in it, from the way I read the article on GateWorld.Net is that they are making the 3rd series completly different then Atlantis or SG-1. They do not want another spin-off like Atlantis is but more of a Seperate entity in the stargate world
And Damn them for killing Beckett

I’ve watched the both series from the first episode to the last episode (Of this season) they both have had good and bad moments but overall they have both been good. The third series (in my opinion) has a lot momentum from SG-1 and Atlantis and had better mess up. I am also looking forward to playing the game though there are things that have been proposed to be in it that I don’t like.

Stargate Universe is the working title of a science fiction television series, part of the Stargate franchise.[1] Produced by MGM, the show was set to enter pre-production in March 2007, entering production in mid 2007 with a projected premiere in early 2008.[2] It is anticipated that Stargate Universe will be filmed and produced in Vancouver, Canada, as with the preceding series.[citation needed]
According to show runner Robert C. Cooper, the "series maintains the spirit of Stargate, but opens up a whole new 'universe'."[3] It is currently being developed as "a completely separate, third entity" - as opposed to Stargate Atlantis, which was created as a spin-off from the first series Stargate SG-1.
It has been rumoured, and denied, that Michael Shanks, who played Daniel Jackson in Stargate SG-1, has been offered the lead in the new series.[4]
Robert C. Cooper has revealed that the new series will revolve around the ninth chevron on the Stargate and will take place during the present time and not be in the distant future. It would be the first time that this topic is used in a series of the franchise. According to him, "It plays a major factor in the third series". He also stated that the series is expected to be released sometime during 2008. It is not yet in production, with the writing scheduled to start after the conclusion of the direct-to-DVD movies.

This is old news, Ive known about this for almost a year now. That artical was put up like over 7 months ago and new info is that there not sure if the movie will be straight to video or if they will show them on scifi. My guess is it will get shown on Sci-Fi to help boost DVD sales.
Honestly, If Carter and Jackson joined Atlantis... Ohhh buddy I would make it a point to watch that show. As it is now... It's good, but, McKay is the best part of the show... I mean, come on, any guy that says, "It's ok because I remember how to use DOS." when in an alien ship rocks the house!
I as well miss RDA's sense of humor and I'm glad that he demanded it be part of his role on SG1... GO RDA!
Can Carter even join atlantis ? isn't she doing the show Sanctuary Now , I just finished watching episode 3 & its an interesting show
Samantha Carter (Amanda Tapping) is moving to Atlantis (After being promoted to Col.) She is going to take over the Atlantis Mission you can read about it and alot more at gateworld
to Stargate

I hope they come out quickly with a new show. Friday nights I need my Star Gate fix!
Seriously though, Atlantis had to grow on me. I found Ford and Dr. Weir pretty lack luster and boring. I like Ronin as Ford's replacement. I'm glad Sam Carter is taking over for Dr. Weir. Now that they are weeding out the boring people it may get even better.
I don't know if its just me, but I find the best episodes of Atlantis are the ones that leave the Wraith story line out of the mix. I really hate the Wraith and I hope they defeat them soon and come up with a better enemy to fight.
I'm looking forward to the 3rd series. And I hear the original makers of the movie are thinking of finally coming out with their vision of Stargate 2 for the big screen.
Almost forgot to add. Rodney Mckay makes Atlantis for me. I just love his over the top humor. I thought in the beginning they were trying to make Col. Sheppard to much like RDA and it just wasn't working. Although I do like Sheppard he'd no RDA but Rodney soon stole every scene he was in anyway.

I think Sci-Fi sucks the life out of series. I guess I am just jaded after they canceled Farscape. I used to love Stargate, but I just stopped caring after Richard Dean Anderson left.
Ok let me get some facts straight with you guys. The first is that none of the SG-1 Cast nor Atlantis Cast is going to be going over to Stargate Universe. The producers have stated this time and time again.
Amanda will only be on Atlantis for one season only. The only reason she was brought in was because she still signed for one more year and the powers that be decided to make her full fill her contract and thus put her on Atlantis. After that I she will be gone.
As for Stargate Movies, there is no plans for Stargate SG-1 to go to the big screen. There will be two movies released one will wrap up the Ori Story line and the other will wrap The Bal Story line. No one knows if they will be straight to DVD or Released on Sci-Fi first. I think they will show them on Sci-Fi first.
Last but not least, there was a plan or two plans of taking Stargate back to the Big screen. The first one was many years ago I'm not to sure wheather it was going to be after season 6 or 7 but what I do know is that the EP called Lost City was the original Plot line for a Big budget Stargate SG-1 movie. However when Sci-Fi bought up two more season the plot line got changed tad bit and watered down for TV budget. The big Budget movie was going to actually set up for Stargate Atlantis.
Now the other movie that was being thrown around about o year or two ago was a movie by Dean Devlin, the writer for the first stargate movie. The movie he had in mind was to take place 10 years after the first Stargate movie, and would pick up with the characters were we last saw them. It was not going to have any thing to do with Stargate SG-1 in any shape form or Fashion. However I have no heard squat on this and am guessing this idea got squashed very quickly.
As for Atlantis getting cancelled, I doubt it will get cancelled. Now that Stargate SG-1 is done, writers and producers can focus more on Stargate Atlantis. I wil say this if Atlantis is cancelled I wouldn't hold my breath on Stargate Universe. Personally I think they should do two more season of Atlantis and end the series once and for all. I don't really think they should be making any more spin offs. I don't really have any desire to see them turn Stargate in to anothe version of Star Trek.
Comments
I didn't like Atlantis as much as SG-1, so I'm sad that there won't be another season of SG-1.

I take that back. Rodney is the only character that I really find REALLY annoying. I guess I just don't find the rest very compelling.
