Most of my friends still play it, but I left because I didn't like the end-game content and because they game overall just feels really boxed-in with no freedom. I don't like paying for an expansion for an MMO that already has monthly fees, especially since blizzard makes more then enough money, and could've made alot more content in 2 years..
I left WoW due to boredom. The expansion sounds just as boring - I will not be buying it. The only expansion that could possibly bring me back to WoW is a roleplay expansion.
I quit over a year ago for 2 major issues... 1) The lack of playable end-game content for the time I have/want to invest. 2) The craptacular implementation of PvP, both the way the ranking system work(s/ed) and the complete lack of purpose.
I don't see any expansion to the game ever bringing me back.
And to the person saying that the population will drop to 30% present numbers...I've been saying that for a LONG time, and yet they actually (according to Blizzard) are going up.

*yawn* pointless assumptions ftl. If you say so, personally I think AOC, Vanguard, Huxley, and Warhammer will be the end of WOW....Thats if they all get released in 2007..

10 more levels plus a new continent are not worth my money. Blizzard loses two subscribers on the 23rd and we won't be back. I've got plenty of RL friends and most of my guildmates that will be purchasing it though.
I don't know about 30% of what it is today in 12 months but for anyone that grew bored with WoW once, they will again in very short order with this (lol)Expansion, imo.
I'll play party poker or something while I await the new stuff(and save up to upgrade my pc so I can play them).

Yes but it's an informed assumption. I'm referring to only one thing. One idea that is going to change things in a big way i feel. I could be wrong but i really feel that it's concept is enough to cause a major shift in the market. I wish i could say what it was but you'll have to wait. When the time comes i'll point it out to you guys.
Not for the extra 10 levels, not for the new uber lootz, not for the flying mounts and certainly not for the new so called features. I will however go back just to see the fuss, see the new land, say hi to old friends that played with and havn't heard from when I left.
There's always the outside chance that what blizzzard adds with TBC will be enough to keep me a bit longer but let's be honest here, there's nothing ground breaking or urgently exciting about the expansion. At best it's a mini rehash of what people have been playing for 2 years. Which is fine because it works well for then for now.

I'm actually pretty sure your wrong. There is currently no concept that has a chance to overthrow WoW in any of the games currently under development..

Maybe you have a anti-WoW terrorist unit and are planning to crash some commercial airlines into the Blizzard buildings? No? well was worth a try
No, while the expansion looks fairly interesting, it adresses none of the problems that drove me away from the game in the first place, and in fact looks like it will worsen some.

No point to end game....boring.
I will not be returning..however like Parrot....I'll probably be dropping everything for AoC, if its as good as its promised to be.

and what facts do you base that upon?
*smiles* i'm not at liberty to say.
I think there is a 99% chance you (Copeland) will actually start playing WoW again before thier subs actually hit 30% of what they are now. There is absolutely no evidence or past precedent to show this or any other MMO will lose 70% of its playerbase within 12mo. If anything history shows it will increase subs after the xpac not decrease. This is easily seen at the US biggest retailer Walmart. Thier shelves only have games like Diablo, Warcraft, Starcraft, WoW, and 1 billion Sims expansions. So unless you are suggesting Sims is going to take over the WoW playerbase, I just dont see how you can say they are going to lose a bunch of Subs.
As far as coming back to WoW. Nope I wont be there, End game sucks, Crafting sucks, No Housing, Economy Sucks, No Character Customization and basically this game has alot of work to do in developement before I would ever consider rejoining.

No, I won't be buying the expansion, in fact, I'll never buy or play another Fisher Price/Blizzard co-production again!
