Thanks again all, for the insightful and helpful input. You're helping me to make an educated decision, which is all I was seeking in my queries here on "MMORPG.com".
I'm not certain what route I'll take yet... I have a personality type that LOVES starting things, so the appeal of starting a new MMGS from day one such as Vanguard is appealing... if I go back to EQ2 or WoW, I will do what I always tend to do and delete my old characters and start them over (at least, in some instances)... it's always hard for me to leave something for many months and then return to pick it up where I was.
While I'm not common to the practice of grouping, I will do it if necessary, and despite my honest assesment of my personality type, it's hardly true that anyone would be able to tell in encountering me in-game. (I tend to be liked by everyone, have a very silly sense of humour, and normally am able to answer most questions in game, as I pick things up blazingly fast.) So, entering into a game where some grouping is necessary is not a killer issue for me. Just so long as I can do my "mysterious yet helpful lone wolf" style, I'm good.
I'm also in the midst of deciding between a PC upgrade (my 2.2 Ghz, 768 ram system is only being held serviceable with my GeForce 6800 GT OC video card), or just grabbing a Wii or 360 (probably 360) to goof around with this next year. Seeing as how I'm on the PC all my free time (and use it for development purposes) I may take my available cash and have a much better system for whatever route I take. Who knows... hard to resist some of the games out on the consoles right now!
Anyways, I highly appreciate the aid again. It is very kind of you to spend your valuable time giving me your honest opinions, and I appreciate that.

I know you didn't really ask but... *cough*PC Upgrade!*cough* hehe But I'm just a console hater. I have similar use of my computer it sounds like, but I have extra change kicking around for plenty of upgrades. It makes the hours I spend playing games so much smoother and less frustrating.
I cracked when Gears of War came out though and picked up an XBox 360...but only because such crap was being released this year for PC games. I still feel dirty from it, but I couldn't help myself...I'd been waiting for the Unreal 3 engine for over a year.

Hehe yeah, I am definitely leaning towards the PC upgrade (though, it reallly will almost be a new system it looks like). I'll probably have $500ish to deal with, and asking for some input on elements on some other sites, I've been given some very viable equipment to pick up and put together for around that amount or less.
Since I'm a developer when working, it's very important to have a good system anyhow, and I do love PC games the most. There are some incredible console games out there, though, and I have no friends around here anymore so I don't have anyone's house to hit up and get a taste of them... I really would love to take a whirl on some Gears of War, Legend of Zelda and even Viva Pinata. But, that said, overall I'm not much of a console gamer, so in the end I probably will go with the PC fix and renew my subscription (or start one) for one of the games I mentioned.
Once I get some income though, I will have all three consoles (Wii, 360 and PS3) as soon as possible. I am a gamer, after all. Hehe. No cost is too large!
Well... I am back with WOW... so awaiting BC! The last PvP server I jumped into.. was Andred DAoC... grrrr was there... Never did another full PvP server until about 2 months ago in WOW!! (in PvE servers for about a 5 months) WoW for me is Wootcha now with added content and PvP alignment.. So enjoying!! will have fun going for the grind to 70 as well...
Vanguard... do even think about it if like Solo work or Crafting... a royal pain+++ yes, I was in beta... but only for a short time... that is all I can say on this..
EvE... I do not like flying through space.. mining .. delveloping my Biz.... well.. maybe when Star Trek OL comes into play
Have friends still in DAoC.. mainly like the RvR concept... however, a lot of peeps awaiting Warhammer...

MMORPG is an inaccurate term...
I use a new and improved term: MMGS = Massively Multiplayer Gaming Service.
