Don't get too excited. The only english version of GE is GE singapore, which only has the right for publishing in SP and malas. you WILL be banned if you get in the beta in the first place.
"Now for those who are asking about whether those outside Asia can play GE.sg, you’re in luck. I personally asked this question and I’ve gotten a very positive answer. You can play it when Closed Beta is launch, and even when the server goes p2p, you will not be IP blocked from it."
Pays to actually have a source before you go ahead and say stuff like that.
In any case, been looking forward to GE since the game was first revealed a long time ago, thanks for the link to the survey! Hope I get selected .
And the best part of it, is that its not even up to those people that person spoke to. Its up to Hanbitsoft, the singapore company can be positive as much as they like, Hanbitsoft only has to snap their fingers and they will have to block & ban those outsiders IP. Just because the hosting company says it now (And its not even up to them) doesn't mean they won't change it. A perfect example is Cabal Online.
And the difference between the 2 is that Cabal actually has a North American Publisher in Game&Game and GE doesn't. Sure, it will happen if GE gets a North American/European/Whatever publisher, but until that happens, there won't be any.
If the game follows and item shop model in Korea, do you expect it to be pay to play in the West? Archlord, anyone? I'm not saying it's impossible, but it should be a hell of a game to do any good and break into the market...
Should be added that the item shop system seems to work for a good number of titles. These same games following a pay to play model would most certainly have crashed.
I do not try to hijack the thread into a dicussion about RMT in online games, but every game has it to some extent. With an item mall the game company capitalizes into the RMT market, instead of leaving it to the farmers alone. It seems to work so well that they can even take away the monthly subscription fee! o_O

The setting and graphics looks very appealing and I hope I'll get in the closed beta so I can give this game a try, and see how it's like.
