Im with you Who really cares if a nda is broken i mean your sheading alittle light on a game that is coming out. im so sick of people complaining about NDA infractions. Get over it everyone rules are made to be broken thats the way it is. i understand its against the law but isnt speeding and dont most of if not all of use speed? lets start banning people from driveing for speeding 5mph over the speed limit. I love it when people break the NDAs i feel as if im getting some info im not suppose to have Oh wait i am and well in my evil mind it makes me feel good hehehe.

actually i dont speedimage.  and i know several others that dont either.  i dont care if you believe me(and i know you dont).  and NDA violators should definitely be warned and/or banned.  playing these betas IS in fact, a priveledge, and should be treated as such.  they dont HAVE to let you into it.  e.g. i want in the Vanguard beta, but i cant get in.  to say that they should pay you to beta test it is just the stupidest thing ive ever heard.  in fact, what usually happens when the game is released?  you usually have to pay them to play it.  kinda the opposite, eh?  anyway, usually the only ones that think its ok to break the NDA are the same ones that think its ok to steal from Walmart, or outrun the cops, or hack other peoples accounts.  very trustworthy, huh?  sorry, but when i read a review from a NDA breaker, all i read is "blah, blah, im whining because i could find enough ways to cheat, blah, blah, this game sux because im not godly in it."  thats all i get out of it.  btw, WOW did not rock while in beta, whoever said that shit didnt know what the hell he/she was talking about.  WOW was barely subpar in beta.  i would know.  Hero Online rocked in beta, now that its released it sux.  games change a hella lot from beta to release.  hence the need for "beta testing" (aka working out bugs, lag, and such).

Just listen to the people who broke the NDA on this beta they're right :P It's crap.

    what beta?

Still not your place to break it though and no amount of lame justification on your part or anyone else's will ever balance the sheer and simple that an NDA breaker is not trustworthy.

I don't buy this "public service" bullshit when it comes to people breaking NDA's. The fact i, you agreed to something and it's not hard to abide by it.

What other breaches of trust will you justify today? (I should trademark that one.)

lol, kinda like posting on a forum instead of saying it in person.  if they ban you, youll just create a new account.  lol, how you gonna accuse anyone of being a coward while posting on a public forum where you can say anything without fear of retribution?  what a dumbass comment to make.

Obviously you are not aware of the resources available on the web. You are not anonymous. You can be found. It has happened in the past that people get so enraged over web postings that people use those resources to track down offensive individuals and punish them in person LOL.
There is no anonymity on the internet. NO matter how hard you try. If you think you can say anything in a forum without fear of retribution you are terribly under educated on the internet and should probably just stop posting.

prove it, come to me house, i got a present for you.

If i really cared i would. hmm wait.. is your present per chance a big pile of cookies?

same here.  i was just pointing out that some of these children will say things over the internet that they wouldnt defend in person.  its a fact, ive tested it.  lol.  me point was that he was calling an anomyous mod a coward for doing exactly what hes doing, lol.  quite funny, IMO.

I agree with the children comment LOL I said that in a thread and got flamed for 20 pages once but the moderators on this site should be professional as a representitive of this site and put their forum names on it. I have mods who laugh and apologize when they ban me because they like me and i have mods that hate me. I don't know who is who but some of the mods really give the others a bad name.

Some mods tell me they enjoy me being a part of the community and that under normal circumstances my ban would be permanent. The last one i got said he didn't understand why i was still allowed to post! Sounds like they are conflicted LOL.

Give me a break. If you think I wouldn't say anything I say in these forums to someone's face you are mistaken.

You know what's a dumbass comment? Suggesting we post on the internet to obscure our identities. How practical would it be for all of us to meet at the same place and have discussions? I always include my name when I send emails.

Like Copeland said, it's about professionalism and being accountable. Cowards are neither.

Aww. What's the matter? Some beta tester said they don't like a game you're interested in? Calling for a ban is one minor step above having a good cry over it. What's with some of you people and your fanatical defense of a game?

I've beta tested alot. Things like lag and bugs change during development. Core game concepts don't.

The terms in an NDA are an agreement between the tester and developers on what information may be revealed during the terms of the contracts.

Sure, we're all free to break our contracts (our word, if you will) but once you go down that road...when does a man's word have any real meaning... its not something you can pick and choose and say... "this time, I really mean it, I promise to keep my word"

Not many people understand this concept anymore... I blame it all on Championship Wrestling...

Here's a question for you NDA supporters: What if I come out and say so-and-so game sucks, but I am not a member of the closed beta nor have I ever agreed to any NDA nor have I hever played the game.  Just some random person saying a game sucks with no justification.  Who would know any better?  I could probably make a generic complaint post that applies to 90% of MMORPG and/or grab a couple details from the site and say, "This feature isn't as fun as it sounds." to make it even sound plausable.

No NDA has been violated, yet the mods of this forum might very well treat the post like it was an NDA violation, and I don't think anyone else would know any better, either, short of perhaps the Devs trying to track me down and match me to their database of NDA signees.

Find something else to cry about. Like littering. First things first, 99% of NDAs aren't legally binding anyway so there's no issue. Second things second, why should things be kept secret? And third and most importantly, development companies WANT you to break NDAs. Don't you think they'd prosecute otherwise? It's really simple marketting. Word of mouth doesn't go very far when all people have to say it "I hear there's a closed beta for Vanguard going on, it's gonna be released in January"... It goes a WHOLE lot further when people can say "I've heard theres a closed beta going on for Vanguard, the testers have leaked that you're gonna be able to craft things with materials you've taken from such-and-such a place, and the combat system is gonna work by having 12738 billion attack combos to choose from and I just can't wait to play! You should come join me, oh yeah, there's also a.... system, I can't wait! REALLY can't wait!"... Rumours are awesome publicity, good or bad.

answer to your question.  youre still lying about the game, why should we trust anything (stress on the ANYTHING) that you say.  youre somehow missing the entire point, if youre going to break the NDA, youre not trustworthy.  youre not a good resource for info.  and if you go around pretending to be apart of the beta and youre not, youre just as not trustworthy.  what is so hard to understand here?  if youre going to lie about a game, why the fuck should we believe anything you say?  damn, i didnt realize this was brain surgery we were doing here.

yeah, youre one of those people that believes that Walmart really wants you to steal stuff from their stores, eh?  because unless you steal more than $25 they wont procescute you.  so they want you to take stuff for free, right?  game companies dont procescute because it would cost too much money and resources to track down every NDA breaker and procescute them.  not hard to figure out here, it isnt their fault that todays youths moral code is based on WOW or any number of MMOs that they happen to be playing this week.  its our fault as parents for not teaching our children better than that.  when i was growing up, a mans word was his bond.  it didnt matter if the NDA was "legally binding", agreeing to it was.  some of you kids need a lesson is manners and honor, or youre going to find out when you grow up.  after your spouse leaves you cause you lie through youre teeth all the time, youre kids hate you cause you lie to them all the time and use them for your own amusement, and you cant hold down a job, cause you cheat, steal, and lie to the company at every chance.

calm down you say, its just a stupid online contract that isnt even legally binding.  and youre right.  but its how you approach the contract that is important.  remember that and youll go farther in life i promise.

I personaly like to be able to say my word is good even if its to some company, however if I was in a beta where I felt I was being lied to and progress was not being made and they planned on releasing a "crap game" I would let people know what I thought. In reality I dont think it would be a good idea to reveal stuff about a game while under a NDA because most of the time the DEVS have the best intrest of the game doing good are going to make changes that you cant predict BUT like I said before if I was Beta testing a game like DnL you bet your ass I would try to tell people what a scam it is. My point is to act as honest as the team making the game you are testing.

Like I said earlier this is a crime I have actually been guilty of. I dont mind admitting it because I see it differently now and I regret my actions in the past.

The thing that changed my opinion on NDA's was when someone pointed out to me that it is more of a personal integrity issue than anything else.

When you agree to the NDA and enter the BETA you have basically given your word. If you then go back on that and blab your opinions about the place, your really breaking your word. Personally I try not to do that in life as its one of the few things we all get to judge ourselves by.
