Tell me about it!  I've a level 60 warrior and I don't have the time that's required to join end-game content.  I log in for hour-at-a-time chunks and can hardly even commit to 5-man instance runs...well I could, but I'm the kind of guy who doesn't like to leave a group in the middle of something like an instance...then the group has to hault and start spamm'n the chat lines and so on.  So for me, I'm simply left to either PVP which personally I can like and dislike at times based on mood or to do things like grind reputation and save gold for Epic mounts and items.  Right now, I'm grinding SW, IF, and Darnassus rep to exaulted so that I can buy cross-race mounts!  I want every mount I can get and the mount I want the most is the Orange Cat!!  Yikes!! But, it's all I can do really.

One thing I'd have to say for WoW though is that the fun kind of starts all over again when you build a new character.  Everything is unknown like your talents and new quests and all that.

    WoW's a good game.

Also part of the problem is that a lot of players try and rush to lvl60 without stopping to play the game.  I have 14 Avatars on 5 realms the biggest lvl42. But I have explored areas that a lot of players that only cared about lvling have never even seen.
The world of WOW is Huge, if you don’t believe that then try swimming around both continents. Not only will us see that the World map is wrong but you will see areas that most people will never know existed.  And then these is the sea floor, you would be amazed what is down there just make sure you have lots of water breathing pots or unending breath.
There are hundreds of Easter eggs  all over as well as things to do and places to explore but all this is lost if all you care about is trying to get to lvl 60 as fast as possible.
OH BTW, I have been playing off and on since gold and am proud of the fact that I have not hit lvl60 but I have taken a lvl 14 to every Flight path point.  If you cant run you can always swim, that’s how I first discovered south shore. By swimming up from BB.

You're game style rocks!!  I've swam around, or tried to swim around the Eastern Kingdoms once and I simply found myself in completely uncharted terrirory...it was like I couldn't really get around the northern tip of the continent.  In fact, my guildies were telling me that I wasn't even registering in a land zone at all and I wasn't.

But I like your casual-check-it-all-out style.  That's the fun in the game, imo.

The game lacks content, enough said.

Can't really agree with this as I find lots of content. I think most people who deem a game to fall under the ole " Lack of content" tend to not fully play all aspects of the game and thats any game not just this one. Meaning you either quested and ignored crafting. Or just went out and beat the heck outta every thing you saw and could in the game. Or it could be that some people just gets bored with it and calls it a lack of content. I've never really played a MMO that had what I would deem to be lack of content. The game agreed with me or it didn't. And if it didn't I moved along.

    Fun is subjective.

You should download EVE, do the trial (make sure you go to low sec) then give a review in the EVE forums.
I also don't understand why so many people bash WOW, though if you can get them to actually admit it, most don't like WOW because they can't randomly gank (every where).  That and they forget that games are supposed to be fun for all, not just them.

Thats just not true Lejohn. I find that the people who dont like it all say the same things and randomly ganking people isnt one of them . You ever think that maybe some of us people exspect a little more for our money than just chasing the next low drop rate, piece of armor or weapon that 1000's of other people already have just so we can end up looking like little twin's of every other person playing the same class as we are

Am not going to sit here and bash WOW . I dont have that much time  But honestly well i was playing WoW most people that i talked to that claimed it was the best game they ever played . If you took the time most would admit that they found it very boring and repetative .I use to laugh at people in my guild that would say OH wow is the best lol, but the very next day it would be oh god are we running that place again , god am so sick of that instance . I would be like but wait just yesterday you where telling me it was the best game made lol

And that was just about everyone i meet in that game they all loved it but in the next breath they would be whining about it .

i agree and disagree about this review.

pre-end game: pre-end game in this game is great, blizzard makes you really work for it.  There are plenty of quests to do and usually you can quest in 2-4 different areas, so u don't get bored of the same enviorment.  As for as instances go, it usually doesn't take you too long to get a group going, especially if your in a guild.  (I am going by the experiances on my server though, so this may very as my server, Hellscreame, is one of the most populated.)  Blizzard makes you want to level up, you want such and such item but you can't get it until X level. Or you want to run such and such instance but aren't high enough in level yet. Or you want your mount, or you want level 60 so on ect.  Certain professions, are also very "noob" friendly.  People new to the game without much money can do very well in certain professions, not spending too much money, and making a considerable profit.  Although some, like Blacksmithing, will drain you of your money if your new and you won't get much in  return.  All in all, i really think blizzard did a nice job of the pre-game in Wow.

End Game: Now..here is where the problems lie.  As most people know who have reached end game and have been there for awhile..you really only have three choices when you hit 60.  I'll do my best to cover all of them.

    1) Join a "raid guild" and start getting your epic gear sets ect. : Ok, there're pros and cons about this choice. On the good side, you can obtain really good gear, make some really good friends, and have a lot of fun in the game.  Bad side, well..at this point in the game, finding quality guilds on my server that raid, is very tough, especially if you play a common class (i.e. rogue, warlock, mage ect.) Also, when you find a guild, you have now commited your self to an "in-game" job of sorts.  It is your job to show up on time, make sure you can be there the whole time, and do your job well, in the raid.  This requires a hell of alot of time, time which students, like me, usually don't have.  So, you become obsessed with the game, not letting your new friends down, and getting new gear.  You also become bored of the same thing, every night, for 4 hrs, trust me, it gets old...fast. In the process, you loose friends, you loose real jobs, your grades could drop (if your a student), and so on.  Also, you have many, many late nights, so if your not a night person..have fun.

Again this is from my personal experiance and all of the above did happen to me.  Now, if you can budget your time well, and have the time to do this option..by all means go for it, your lucky.

    2) You can PVP to get your Grand Marshal/High Warloard gear and weapon: Ok, until just resently, this was almost impossible to do, now however, its much easier. The gear is better than most tier 2 pieces, so you can do well with it.  It doesn't take too long to get, probobly about a month's worth of good strong pvp. If your obsessive, you can get in in about 2 weeks or so.   Also world pvp in this game..is virtually non-existent. And sence there are only three different battle grounds, it also gets very, very broing and turns in to an enourmus grind. Now, here's the problem, this choice, eventually leads to either of the other two choices. Either you get bored and decide to start raiding.  Or you get bored with nothing to do, and start a new toon, which in choice number three.

    3) Start a new toon: there's alot you can do with this, you can do different professions and make more money, you can make a brand new toon just to have fun with.  But, no matter what, you going to be undergeard at end-game.  Sometimes, your main is geard, but most of the time your "alts" are well undergeard for lvl 60.  Making them not so useful at end-game. However..this option does provide something else to do, which is what you were probobly aiming for in the first place.

So, basically my issue with end game is, in order to be really succesful and get alot out of the game, the good stuff that this game has to offer.  You have to have alot of time, and you have to play the game fairly obsessivly.  Now, for some people, this really isn't an issue, but for me, is really was.  This post, i guess, is really geard more for students.  There really isn't any room in this game for the casual gamer.  But don't turn this game down just from what i say, with the expansion just around the corner, who know's, Blizzard might fix the problem, or they might not, who knows with them crazies and blizzard.

All in all, its really a good game if you dig down deep enough, if you have the time for it, and you know how to use your ignore list.

    60 warlock-Hellscream(retired)

(i agree with the post above, runnin around to the same instance every night just so u can look like all the other people with your gear..really does suck,  custmazation in the game is baaaaaaaaaaaaad.)
