Yea there is a item mall, but like 10$ a month is all youll need really if your in a guild or dedicated to it.

In  reality all of the items save for the hair dyes and a few trivial items are obtainable thru normal gameplay means. Basically its a matter of saying, hey you can get further faster if you shell out some clams. Doesnt mean you cant succede though with a little work.

The game is fine, and the graphics are an par with eq2 depending on how strong your computer is.

I'm sorry. I play the beta and every option is maxed out. It doesn't come close to EQ2 or GW. Its similar to EQ1, but with just higher resolution textures.

Saying that the graphics are on par with EQ2 is a bit much ;) Personally i really like the graphics, but they remind me more of RYL2 than EQ1. Though if you crank up the resultion in the .ini-file and force AF and AA via your videocard menu's, it gets quite nice.

The fact that this is a pirate-based, makes me forgive some of the flaws of the game, and right now im enjoying the game very much. AFAIK the game is skillbased and that's a big plus. Also the fact that you can choose to be a fulltime merchant or crafter could make for great RPG'ing too.

As this game is free i would recommend everyone who ever enjoyed Sid Meier's Pirates to try it out...its not the greatest game, but it can be very entertaining at times :)

And i love that you can work in the different taverns while not being able to play..as long as you are online that is. Yesterday i logged in, but my GF kept bugging me to do stuff, so i never actually got to play. Instead i kept working at a tavern and made about 25k silver, while hugging my GF...now THATS a usable feature ;)
