Its Just a Game

I'd have to agree that it is just a game.  Just a game people poured their money and their time into, a game people played to unwind and enjoy.  You tell the people who spent hours on end grinding out jedi that it's just a game.  LA/SOE took something many people enjoyed and completely turned it upside down.  I'm sure there are some people who enjoy it the way it is now, but the hardcore players, the customers that were there from the beginning, really got screwed out of a game they liked.

I can easily say I'm not disgruntled.  I invested time in the game but not to the point where I had something to lose.  The same could not be said for the players who grinded out jedi.  That's just my 2 cents, though.

I think the real problem with calling this just a game is that it appealed to a very large group of people...  "Star Wars Fans".  Sure, it might just be a game, but it's one that gave a very large group of Rebel and Imperial hopefulles a chance to live out their dream.  Granted, some of that can still be done, but since to get where it is today, they ripped out the guts and did so without warning people, most are still bitter.  I can't blame them either.  Such a massive change without warning was bound to be rejected by the people that had come to call SWG their second life.  It'd probably be like losing a limb, where you're forced to live life in a new way.  (course following that line of thinking, many people commited suicide the day NGE hit O.o  creepy thought).
