Lineage 2 Quests Part 2

Rha-ELRha-EL Member Posts: 208

Ok, after reaching 27 during the 7 day trial from FilePlanet and having leveled mostly on doing the starter quests in Lineage 2 in Talking Island, Gludin, Gludio and Dion...I have concluded that Lineage 2 Quests are worth a fuck.  They are as bad as people say and it is not worth it to do them.  The time invested just does not equal the returns or end rewards of the quests.  They should just do away with most of them because that is exactly what they are worth...a piece of crap.  Why even have such useless, pointless quests at all in the game?  It is beyond lame.  If I had leveled purely on mobs and not done ANY of the quests, I believe I would have more money saved up and I would be a higher level.

What's pathetic is that I cannot even justify the entertainment value of the quests themselves because most of them are boring, repetitive bullshit about running from point A to point B (sometimes running the entirety of the map such as from Dion to Aden).

If you are a newbie, avoid the quests.  Don't do them except for the ones that reward high $$$ or echant weapon stuffs. Otherwise none of them are really worth the time and it is a excersice in frustration.  It is no wonder why NCSOFT had to put all the stupid newbie buffs and alternatives to help level faster since quests do jack for people starting the game.  They are absolutely worthless.

You really need to look up quests before you do them. Some of the quests are worth it and all they require is you kill a certain amount of mobs. If those mobs happen to be where you are leveling then it's definitely worth it. Some of the quests like the pavel ruins where you can get a 60% b grade weapon rec  can go a long ways to helping gear you out.

Actually I meant quests in the starter areas.  I am sure that quests in the upper levels are quite worth it since $$$ at that stage for stuff is just ridiculous...

But starter areas, they are worth a crap...pre-level 40.

    Lineage 2 Quests:

    1) Kill x number of monsters

2)Teleport to every single city to find some random NPC for a little letter.

Actually, a lot of the noob quests seem to be worth it. I did a few since I made a new character and I basically have enough sps to level from 1-20 w/o having to buy any. That's pretty damn good imo. I also got some gear for doing a quest that took me 5 minutes running around town.

lol well I just leveled from 1-28 for the full 7 day trial mostly on quests in Lineage 2 and AGAIN, I say, I would have MORE money and be higher level now if I had just killed mobs and ignored all the newbie quests, except for the free NG soulshot one...that one was good.

Besides that, you got newbie buffs, buff pots and tons of NG soulshots..you don't have to do any quests period from 1-20 except to get more NG soulshot at all.  Hell you could level 1-20 no problem without doing any quests.  That's pretty damn awful in my opinion if you can totally bypass the quests and STILL get from 1-20 faster and have more money at the end then if you had done the quests.

Also exactly what is "some gear"?  Like I said I did practically ALL the quests from Talking Island Village ->Gludin -> Gludio -> Dion.

There isn't much useful gear quests at all.  The most useful one game me an Aspis (D) grade gear.  Since going from 1-20 is pretty much blazing fast and can be done with just your starting clothes if you use NG soulshots, the newbie buffs and buff pots that drop, I hardly thing any gear you get in the newbie areas contributes jack shit to the outcome of your leveling from 1-20.

Its from D grade onwards that you will start feeling the pinch of needing money.  Fortunately because of the Santa Hat event, I was able to make and sell it enought o buy me a brig top/bottom...but if I had started when there was no event whatsoever?  I think pretty much, as a newbie I would have been screwed if I was going solo, different if you can find a clan right away who can put you in clan gear of course.  But seriously, at the lower levels, Lineage 2 is SERIOUSLY lacking and Newbie UNFRIENDLY.

Oh and I consider newbie to be from level 1 to 40, not 1-20.

One of the quests on talking island gave me two knowledge rings. It's not much but for 5 minutes of my time I think it was worth it.

I'm not saying all the quests are worth it, so it's best to look them up on stratics and see what they give in the end.

Accoding to Mistryl a few months back quests in lineage 2 arent about the loot, just another way of playing instead of grinding.

lol if she means for entertainment value, I say its non-existent.  Making a newbie run from point A to point B to kill mobs that are 2x normal hp mobs as in the "Acts of Evil" quest and then have most of those mobs run away when their 1/2 health is seriously deranged.  Around level 26 when I did them with brig top/bottom and a falchion sword and it STILL was a pain trying to collect 40 blade molds.  And this was only part 1 of that entire quest.  I gave up after the 4th mob I was wailing on ran away to get more of his buddies.  All the while thinking, this quest supposed to be doable by a newbie?  Whats the reward in the end?  98,000a.  LOL all that trouble for so little?  Won't even help me get to the next upgrade weapon.  Hell probably just recuperate my NG SS cost.  IDIOTIC.

I really have to say that this is pretty much the quest structure.

I have never done so much running in a game for the excuse of "getting a seal" or "delivering something in order to get an item to bring back to the quest giver only for 'him' to discover that he forgot something and then sends me off again".
