definitely try the free trial. From there, you can decide if it is right for you. Try the 10 days free. Then if you choose, get the $10 package and have an additional 30 days. Think of it as 40 days for $10.

    Some added comments:
Quests also give favor points in addition to XP. Low level solo get 2 points and they range up from there depending on level and difficulty. At 400 points, you get access to a drow character and a sixth character slot. At 1750, you get access to a 32 point build character.

There are over 150 quests. All are instanced but occur in dungeons, forests, deserts and other locales. They vary in length from very short to very long with some even a series of quests that take hours to complete.

Depending on you character set up, soloing is a possibility even in quests with no solo option.

As a bard becomes higher level, they are more valuable to their teams, even replacing the cleric in some quests.

It is difficult if you are warforged, because not all sorcerers and wizards like to use their spell points to heal or fill their limited number of spell slots with healing for warforged. Paladins can heal with lay on hands, but because they only get a small number of them, usually don't use them much. I have seen static groups of all warforged and the wizard is their healer.

I actually looking for some thing... that you can play.. but which will not require big amount of time..
Not sure what other games you have played, but for me 30 minutes to an hour with-in DDO feels as rewarding if not more so than a few hours of play in WoW or EQ2.

If you are someone that wants to spend countless time walking to-fro mission to mission then the game isn't for you.  But if you are like me and don't have all day to spend walking or flying a griff to your quest location the game is great.

A pro and con is the level cap.  Right now it is at 12, with 14 looming on the horizon.  It is supposed to go up to 16 by the summer.

The pro is that they are releasing content in such a way that you can keep up with your friends if you play at least a few hours a week.  The con is that a powerleveling may get held up a bit here and there waiting on new content.  But honestly the content turbine is churning out is great and comes quickly.

Also in regards to level, technically one way to look at the levels is that there are 5 ranks to reach the next level.  In some ways these ranks are equal to what a level would be in another game.   So technically there currently is 12 levels currently with 5 ranks each level.   So you can be a level 1 rank 4 and so on.  You get Action points each rank to change around your talents so to speak.   This makes the time in between levels seem much more fruitful.

Also I like the multi-class, such as I have a Cleric/Paladin.    That gives you even more options.

It is a complex game that doesn't require you to be on 24x7 to have fun and stay on top of the game.

Considering the expansion is coming, yeah that drop the price. It sold between 44.95 to 50 dollars for 2 years. Burning Crusade pre-orders sold out at the EB games at the mall near my house, Gamestop and Wal-Market. If WoW is so unpopular why did BC sell out? Explain yourself.

DDO at all the place except Wal-Mart sells for 14.95. Wal-Mart is selling it for $12.95. DDO isn't planning to come out with any expansion packs.

That's exactly how I saw it. 40 days for 10.00. I don't think you can cover 150 quests in 10 days as some of the quests are a few hours long and some are complex. But I do think the 10 day trial will give you a feel if you like the game or not. As someone posted, you usually get the feeling if you like the game in the first few minutes.

And I love my bard in DDO. I feel I contribute more than being a buffbot in comparison to EQ2 troubador. I like the bards a lot in DDO.

DDO is comming out with an expansion pack in march. New lands, new classes, and new feats.

Really? I thought I read on their forums that they dismissed that. I thought I even read that they said the expansion that is on ebgames/gamestop was not legit?

Or am I thinking of something different?

RPG you have to be one of the most uninformed people here giving false information.  This is the Xpac planned for DDO.   They are currently expanding the game though monthly updates as well.
