Looking for help in choosing an MMORPG

I had long enjoyed playing Ultima Online : renaissance *spell? and didn't try any other version until AoS and was rather disappointed... It semed too easy for newbs to get good, and the new skills put my character at a strong disadvantage...
I'm looking for a new game with the basic skill set and character development as UO:R, but in 3D.
P.S. If possible a 3rd person over shoulder view with a 1st person toggle for combat.
