I've been playing since the mid to late 90's, starting with Meridian 59 and Ultima Online, then getting swept up in EQ at release. I've played all the major games (and most of the minor ones) for at least a few levels. I'm the type of person who tries to do too much himself. As a result, I end up getting bored quick and quit one game only to play another and repeat the cycle. I'll make up one character, then grow borded and tradeskill, make another adventurer, make more alts, leave for 2 weeks and come back... then I notice all my friends are higher level and I get discouraged and end up quitting.
I did make it to max level in one MMORPG... SWG. I was maxed at 80 after the first CU came out in spring of 2005, and was enjoying the game despite all the sweeping changes. However, when NGE came out I left the game in disgust, so never made it to the *new* max level of 90.
