I must agree, the people who have been commenting on this probably have absolutely no knowledge of what the FBI does or needs to do. You'd you rather have an agency that sat on it's @$$ and just let illegal crap like that happen. I'm pretty sure the FBI doesn't need or should spend 100% of it's resources anyway fighting the "War on Terror". If your so afraid of Terrorism then, congratulations, that is excatly what the terrorists wanted.

Correction: it's the truth told in a joking manner. The only thing I didn't agree with was the F.B.I. part. They did their job, and did it well. The rest of the article was spot on.

I've never understood the mentality of not doing this. UO lost out when EA cancelled UO2, and they'll keep going down that road for some reason...

Think about it. As a company would you rather own one of the many games out there for a given genre, or two or three? So what if they are "competing" against each other; they also can share tech/resources/etc. just like big companies do when they merge to gether. This whole concept of not competing against one's self is "management school" thinking, and doesn't really work once you reach the streets.

To continue this point - there is some overlap between CoH/V and MUO, but exactly how much of the existing fanbase will migrate and how many new players MUO will draw in is unknown right now. It's better for Cryptic to "compete" with itself (and, depending on exactly how MUO turns out, that competition might not be all that great in terms of market share; PC gamers vs console gamers and all that) than to have someone else compete with them.

The longer I think about it, the more I see this move as being one of genius - Marvel gets a studio it knows can produce a good superhero MMOG, Cryptic gets a big name title that will have a hell of a lot of PR behind it that will only grow their revenue streams and Microsoft might finally get a MMOG out the door for the Xbox360.
