Mourning->thrones of chaos->whatever it was before that->whatever they are planning to call it next.
DnL has to win for going from one of the highest rated of the upcoming games here on mmorpg.com to one of the lowest released games. It's a total trainwreck of an MMO.

ok how bout this:
DnL:
for being hyped to the point of being at the top of the upcoming games list, only to fall the bottom of the released games list. All hype, no delivery.
Mourning:
For doing absolutely everything wrong. Every MMO designer should study what they did, and not do it! Mourning has all the makings of a lifetime channel afternoon movie.
SWG:
It should get the nod for being an OK game that was slowly getting better, then caught a case of wowitis that eventually caused its death. The sad story of SWG shows how much people loved the game and how out of touch both SOE and Lucas are. Of course Smed is probably still trying to spin the NGE as a "success" by some invented metric.

50 plays online at a time doesn't seem like it should be classified as an MMORPG, haha.
Then again, that Mourning thread pretty much made this site famous!
I'd personally say:
1) Star Wars Galaxies: Only game to start bad, and progressively suck worse with time, constantly outdoing itself. How you go from being a bug-ridden, broken piece of garbage, to an NGE, which was even a buggier, broken, and more boring piece of garbage than the original is absolutely mystifying.
2) Asheron's Call 2: It's not often a game is made where you can lose to the starting gutter trash mobs. I will NEVER forget being killed 6 times in a row at level 1 by the easiest enemy in a game. Plus, it was the most pathetic sequel to an MMORPG franchise ever, in my opinion.
3) Mourning: If you've heard of this game, you know how ridiculous it was.
Waiting for something fresh to arrive on the MMO scene...

That's to save you from the nightmare called mourning.

PS
The guys from mourning were making demands to mmorpg.com and in response mmorpg.com removed the game. There's a 1000+ reply thread here in the pub that should give you more than enough background on mourning...hmm maybe i can go rez it to everyone's delight!
Happy to see the search feature works! linky to the 1300+ reply thread about mourning:

Haha, I just looked it up on Wiki:

It's actually sorta funny- I'd like to find a screenshot somewhere though.

Mourning- Only because not only was the game aweful it was a scam
Dark and Light- a scam and they spread a worm via their website
Star Wars Galaxies, changed the game completly disregarding anyone who played at the time
There are more bad games, but these 3 get high mention because they were obviously made without the intention that humans would be subscribing to them. I don't know what their target audience was, but I can conclusivly say that it does not live within the bounds of this planet.
WoW or Eve
they get my vote.
Definitely a tie, WoW and Eve
Probally one of those Korean mmorpgs like RF Online or sumthing, it was ALOT less fun than DnL and thats saying something. I actually got addicted to DnL for a couple weeks lol, quite being being in a sandbox and being able to fly from the start.
Though everything about is is soo bad.
Heres a toast to the MOURNING of 2007
1. Mourning - Big scam.
2. DnL - What can we say but scam.
3. Horizons - Stole a lot of money from everyone including players. No matter what the company was called.
4. SWG - You just don't screw over your whole fan base.
5. RYL - Win a million of nothing.
These are my 5.

Really dont know how soem of you can justify swg as being one of the worst. Sure they made some fatally flawed decisions but i had 3 happy years playinhgon and off along with many many others. The elation of unlocking the jedi slot was still one of my elated moments.
Agree with DnL & Mourning but id also add Archlord and RF Online into the mix. What a pile of steaming sh1te they were.

Despite the fact that nearly every P&P D&D player told Turbine their ideas sucked, and the game was going to suck......because their ideas sucked.
DDO to me has to be the biggest dissapointment in recent MMO history, it rates alongside FFXI's Gilfarmer problem
Dark and Light (DnL) is by far the worst, although Mourning is a close second.
SWG is probably the biggest screw-your-customers game ever.
Worst expansion pack ever was Trials of Atlantis for Dark Age of Camelot.
