have any of you tested this befor? and do you plan on giving it a shot?

 

MMORPG.COM has received an anonymous tip about Freeworld and it's pre-beta test phase.  See below for details:

    I signed up for it just in case. I haven't heard anything about it before and the screens aren't that great... Does anyone know anything about it?

    Wow, that was fast. I just got an email verifying that I got in to the alpha test for Freeworld. However, it does say its one of the later phases and that they will send me more detailed info on April 16th when I will be able to play. A little while away, but nice to know so quickly.

    i have tested this befor and i like it alot......the screen shots on there website are sooooo old...

    it looks much better now.

    hmmmmm.....ill see if i can find some screenshots and post them.......

    how do you post screenshots here?

    Wow, thanks for posting! I got into Alpha Testing for April 16th! I got so many MMORPG's to test in the upcoming month, thanks for posting again!

    This sure is going to be a busy year for MMORPG's for me, may the best one win and get my money each month along with many hours of gaming! image

    You can go to a free site like boomspeed.com or something, make an account there. Then you can upload pictures to your account and post the link here for us to visit.

    I would really like to see some recent screenshots for this game, because frankly the screenshots they have currently are not very impressive. Although, the actual gameplay saounds amazing.

    EDIT: Heh, check the news. 8 new screenshots, what good timing. They look slightly better, not a huge improvement

    Why does everybody whine about graphics.. good grief people ,you make me puke, dont you know anything about games develooment? This game is Alpha testing for crying out loud, all they are interested in at this point in time is getting the programming right, the graphics will come later.

    I think alot of you just want to do testing so you can play MMORPGs for free and dont really care about testing at all. If you did just want to do this for testing you wouldnt be whinging about pre release standard graphics.

    so true Agricola.......also did you guys know the people that make this game dont get payed to do it? and they have a no budget...unlike some of the games your trying to compair it too.

    Sorry but that is just not true. I've betatested so many MMORPGs so far and one thing i can tell ya: The graphics engine is allways the 1st thing finished. They don't wanna mess around with the engine whne they start to add content and skills and such stuff.
    Usually alphas of MMORPGs (testing one right now) show the looks the game will have allready. Sure textures aren't final and effects are missing but the engine stands.

    You wont see a beta with blocky shitty animated characters haveing Characters like Linage 2 as soon it hits retail.
    If the beta looks liek crap you either live with it since graphics aren't the most important thing in a MMORPG, OR you look for something else.


    EDIT: I *cough* overlooked that it's in alpha still. Then there sure is room for improvements still. Don't expect it to be on par with Lineage 2 but it COULD improve a lot in that state still.

    hello....im sure some of you know me :)

    I'm the owner of MindSurge Entertainment and the Lead Art Director for FreeWorld.

    I would have to say 90% of all the graphics are just place holders tell we complete the engine...we have at lest 1 year before the engine will be completed so we can move into beta with the final graphics......IF PLAYING A UNFINISH AND RUFF AROUND THE EDGES GAME IS NOT YOUR THING....then plz do not play FreeWorld tell we go Beta.

    also....i dont think alot of people really look and see that we are ALPHA testing :) there is a big differance from ALPHA and BETA :)

    for the rest of you that would like to have a chance to help us form this new game in an early phase of dev. then I welcome everyone of you.

    But However i have played 2 Alpha Phases from that MMORPG in the Past....

    THat game looks kinda bad. But the game play must rock. I don't think I am going to bother with other mrpgs besides WoW.

    I was a beta tester in early alpha stages and I honestly did not care for the game much I mostly disliked the combat aspect. I stayed with it testing for several months still though but it has been well over a year now. There may be some new changes and all and may be getting better I know that the team designing are a bunch of great people and very fun to be around.

    Woah, you're Maverick??  I've seen you about every 10 minutes in every multi-player online game I've ever played!!  Good to see ya, tell Sephiroth and Aragorn I said hi.

    Ah, maybe you should have tried alpha testing in the alpha stage.  Maybe you would have liked it better!
