Hey thanks Cuppa still miss ya from the CoX forums hehe. I wrote a guide for EM/ELA Brutes that the new moderator still hasn't added to the brute guides section
I was entering my information and I accidentally entered the wrong processor speed. by the time I noticed, I had already submitted it. I entered 2.0-2.49 instead of 3.0-3.49. Now I have no chance to get in even though I have been waiting for this game for years and DO have a capable computer. That has to be one of the largest dissapointments this year. There is no way to edit my information.
EDIT: it sucks even more because I have been building up my beta credentials for a long time now, primarily just to get into THIS beta. I am going to go become emo and mope in the corner now.
i won a beta slot from auto assault. when can i expect a email?
When we get closer to starting the beta in a few weeks. We are just taking applications at this time. You will get an email.
And oh - if you mess up on your beta application you can go create a new plaync account and re-apply. I know, I know, you should be able to change it, but until we can fix it re-applying will work.

Woot x10!! Been waiting on TR for a long long while all I can say is about time. Hope it's been worth the wait I faith in Richard Garriot so I'm sure it is and then some.
How different it is its hard for me to say as I have never played UO. There is no open pvp, its sci-fi not fantasy, it has classes, it has multiple worlds, the back story is a war, so there is a big combat focus.
I wonder since I was one of the ones who attempted to PK Lord British during the Hiene seiges , if that makes my chances for beta less than winning the lottery.
I remember when he said he was gonna make another MMORPG , I sure hope he succeeds at it , he was really nice to us in Lineage 1 when he made a camo appearance. He really fixed alot of what was broken in the early days of Lineage 1 US.
Can we got a vote to remove Joe and replace him with Aura Manning?
Can't wait ... Though am kinda bummed about the class/level system, but i will see how it plays out. Was kinda hoping for more of a skill based system, OR at least something like SWG old class system.
Hope to see the combat system of a semi, psuedo twitch based combat mixed with RPG elements.
Though can't sign up for beta since my PC wont run it ... as of yet.
I got an e-mail from them yesterday and could'nt remember my password or username (bugger*) but i managed to lock down another account (thank God). Hope to see you kids in teh closed beta.

Wow ... the requirements seems pretty demanding, I hope the client will run properly on a mid-range setup ...
Wich valuation methods are going to be adopted for the selection of the beta applications?
As a note: Those are recommended, not minimum. That is the same as any other game: guidelines for an average-high experience. I'm sure the minimum are a lot lower than that.
Windows® 2000/XP/Vista, 512 MB System RAM, 2.5 GHz Intel® Pentium® 4 or equivalent AMD processor, 128 MB Direct3D and Shader 2.0 compatible video card and Direct X 9.0 compatible driver.

Well to quote CuppaJo from her recent radio interview
its going good we got a lot of applications which is a good but we plan to take a whole bunch. I don't know if you guys have taken a look at system requirements for TR. But what we looking, what we are trying to do is get a good range of hardware from our minimum specifications all the way to some of the newer kinda higher end just released stuff. So we want kinda of as many beta applications as possible so we can get a sampling of not only the hardware but different locations throughout the world to test the game we are to paling on having a European beta for all you guys across the pond we definitely want to hear from you as well. Please go sign up for beta.

Well I can tell you the the first wave that we do will be all of the contest winners that we had. And then after that we'll kinda probably hang for a bit and see how that goes. And then once we get past that first kinda wave, our tentative plan is to get people in on pretty regular cycle, not like CoV seemed like we did waves with several weeks in between them up to a month in between them. I think we are going try to turn over faster, getting people in fresh eyes pretty regularly so that we can respond to feed back, make changes and then get new people in to see. Especially first news or experience and get people to see that on a regular basis and get fresh opinion. Cuse you only see something the first time once and that first impression is important for a MMO. So also its going to be a average length beta i don't expect it drag out for a year or anything like that, but i don't expect it to be two months either. So its more in between that.
I know that the requirements I've posted are the recommended requirements. Usually the "recommended" requirements are more revealing than the "minimum" requirements ... my computer met Vanguard SoH's minimum requirements, for example, but ... well, you know what I mean.
Judging from the most recent videos I've seen in the PlanetTR fansite the game seems very polished indeed. I hope it will preserve its visual appeal even on the computers that meet the minimum requirements ...
I just hope that having to put "other" for my video card doesn't hurt my chances even though it fits the reqs, it ran Vanguard just fine, its just a nvida laptop card not on the list. Definately looking forward to playing, as it sounds like what my brain has been craving.
