Open Beta begins for Vanguard: Saga of Heroes January 5th.

Sony Online Entertainment and Sigil Games Online today announced that open beta will begin tomorrow, January 5th, for the upcoming massively multiplayer online role-playing game, "Vanguard: Saga of Heroes." Tomorrow players that are participating in the pre-order program will be able to access the open beta. Other adventurers interested in exploring the world of Telon can head over to www.fileplanet.com to begin their journey."Vanguard: Saga of Heroes" will immerse players in a classical fantasy setting filled with magic and intrigue beginning in Q1 of 2007.

For the first week the offer is only open to File Planet subscribers, to subscribe visit www.fileplanet.com

The European beta will open on January 8th. European customers who have pre-ordered "Vanguard: Saga of Heroes" and received their key can also join beta on January 5th.

    mabey 30th jan is going to surprise us all and be the release, i just pre-ordered upon reading this article, do i get code emailed to me or what? because im guessing im not gunna get the box till its released.

    Ruins beta for me when europe has to wait 3 extra days then us to download and play the game. Kinda lame too with fileplanet , they should have set up bittorrent for people who dont wanna use fileplanet.

    the fileplanet subsribers only and only for the US and Canada? I don't know 3 days don't sound to bad for Europe because i'm not paying for no stupid Fileplanet account, i'll happly wait my week!

    3 days aint bad to wait but what makes it BAD is today is friday and 3 days from now its monday. So there goes my weekend  waiting for vanguard beta.............

    I am hoping that the game gets heavily optimized in the next few weeks as it is currently very sluggish on my system



    Win XP SP2

    AMD X2 3800

    Ati X800GTO2 256mb

    2GB DDR3200 memory

    150GB spare space on HD (Sata2 7200)



    running at  1280x1024 running at balanced can be very sluggish. Lowering the settings helps a little. The game certainly looks good but it EQ2 ran much better on my older system just before release (and that was considered sluggish at the time) and frankly was more pleasing to the eye.



    I just hope they have lots of patching planned from now to release.

    Now the world wil get to see what  us beta testers have had to deal with for the past  year.  I'll let the game speak for itself.

    Now that the NDA is up, I can officially say that this game has been running like crap since beta started. I can't believe we're maybe what, 1 or 2 months away from release and it STILL runs like crap. EQ2 runs better!

    Yeah it doesnt sound too good when it comes down to preformance... I have mine doubts but hell I need to try something else then wow and vanguards is only beta that seems to fit my needs. Worst thing that may happen is deinstall it :)

    LoL , it sucks to be euro . I can only hope for Age of Conan to be europe only beta for 1-2 month before they let rest of the word to test it

    This seems to imply that people without pre-orders can join.



    Anyone know how to get such a beta key??

    Just get to Fileplanet and follow instructions there...

    If you're a US resident, you'll be able to create an account and download the game...

    If you're not, then let's cry together :s

    Ah that explains it as I'm UK -I assumed the file planet link was just to download the game, not set up account.



    Oh well time to sit & wait I suppose :(

    Non-US people can get a key from he fileplanet site by using a US-proxy like one from the codeen network: 128.112.139.80 port: 3128. Tho the proxy wont let you go to the last page, just disable the proxy to get past the last link and get your key.



    So go to this page using the proxy: http://www.fileplanet.com/promotions/vanguardbeta/landing.aspx

    and before you press the link "continue to get your key" disable the proxy and your through with your own connection.

    Another crock of shit, SOE really wants their name to be murdered in every possible way shape and form. I'm sure the idea of giving "Open Beta" to fileplanet subscribers only has already lost SOE business from pissed of players. I'm not paying a cover charge to play an "Closed to Fileplanet Beta" just like I'm sure many of you others won't. For the ones that do, you are the reason why SOE pulls this shit, they know they can fuck you over and still you will come crawling back.

    [[ DEAD ]] - Funny - I deleted my account on the site using the cancel account button.  Forum user is separate and still exists with no way of deleting it. Delete it admins. Do it, this ends now.

    You only needed to be registered to fileplanet get access to a key, you dont have to be a paying member! Paying members just get the download of the file faster, but as i gather the file can be downloaded from other locations too.

    this no longer seems to be true

    only those that pay for a subscription get a key according to their website

    You can download the client sure, but have to subscribe to get a key.

    Its not open beta as long we have to pay dime...... ( Sorry I got so possed at fileplanet, soe and so on)
