Another performance thread

Still cant get into the beta forums and there is little info on the regular Vanguard forums.

i'll start off with my system specs:

Intel 3.2 gig processor on an Asus board

2 gig ram

Ndvidia 7600  512meg

Cl Live 5.1sound

600 watt power supply

300 gig hd

Average internet connection 6.5mbps

In the crafting guild hall i'm getting 5 average fps

Just outside of town i'm getting around 8-10 average fps

In the wild with no pc's,npc's or mobs i'm around 25-30 fps

In the wild with 1 mob i get around 15fps

Muliple mobs or other pc's around me i get around 10-12fps

I tried altering the ini file with the threads i found here, Morts tips i believe it was called, no real help. I was just on Sever 2 with a load of around 1500, so thats not the problem.

If anyone has any tips i would greatly appreciate it. Right now the game is unplayable for me because its giving me an incredible headache.

    Same here.

My advice would be to uninstall Vanguard:SOH and delete all its files.  Then, walk away from this train wreck and never look back.

There are wildly differing comments about VG performance -- the vast majority are very negative with an occasional tester saying, "It runs silky smooth!"

My feeling about it is that it has some major incompatibility problems with various systems.  Some average or lower-end systems users claim it runs fine, others with high-end systems say it runs poorly.

When I hear this, it makes me feel that the game has incompatibility problems.

However, the game feels enough like EverQuest 3.0 to me (and that is NOT a compliment) and due to its poor performance (whatever the cause), I just uninstalled it, deleted all files, deleted all bookmarks for Vanguard and also for any SOE games (since I don't play them anyway).

And I didn't do this because I was upset ... I just figure with the plethora of new games coming out, I have no need to dick around with some *ini* file or try other fixes or upgrades.

Course, then again, Vanguard was only the 17th MMORPG I have beta'ed or played at retail, so maybe I don't know WTF I am talking about due to inexperience.
