Dual weapons comming to game?

I was wondering how long it would take for SWG to get dual weapons in the game. Like your ranged players could have a gun in each hand , like a carbine and side arm or two side arms or two carbines but they would not be able to hold two heavy weapons at at time and for jedi and other melee players a Light Saber in each hand or a Light Saber in one and a gun in the other like Luke does in the books. But other melee players would be able to have two swords in each hand also or sword in one and gun in the other or what ever melee waepon they choose just as long as it don't take two hands to hold one of em. What you guys think?

    many asked for this over  the last 3 years- for 3 years they said no. It would be nice to see.

    Man thats a shame because like you said that would be very nice. But if they wanted to make it like real star wars they would because in the books the Jedi have two LS, The BHs, smugglers, comandos have two guns so why not?

    That is a great question.  No one knows why they things are the way they are. But I would like to interview them on an exclusive g4 interview.

    duel weapons have been a topic since launch, if you have been playing recently you know that pvp combat is too short as is, adding another weapon to a turn would make it a matter of seconds, although I am sure every bounty hunter on the server would welcome this in first strike. Dual wielding is the least of swg's concern at this dark point.

    Played (more than a month): SWG, Second Life, Tabula Rasa, Lineage 2, Everquest 2, EvE, MxO, Ryzom.

    Tried: WoW, Shadowbane, Anarchy Online, Everquest, WWII Online, Planetside

    Beta: Lotro, Tabula Rasa, WAR.

    The counter-point to this has always been:  just add the dual weaponery as an animation

    The game doesn't make enough money to justify the expense of adding new animations.

    I can't see them introducing them, to be honest..... they'll come up with some excuse about no art / animations for it, etc. I'd rather they add more content to the game first, before fiddling with the professions again.

     Never. SOE said it would take new artwork to implement. So far, we're stil waiting for artwork to fix the animations they broke over a year ago. It's like there is no artist time allowed anymore with SWG.



      If it was to ever be implemented, it would come after a long line of items on the waiting list still.
