Pay for the game and a monthly/ yearly fee??

I am looking at buying the game but have been told there is a fee on top of that to play it . But can't find anything on the offial website that talks about that. Was I told wrong? If not how much is it and where can I find the link?

Yep, it has a monthly fee. One of my main reasons for quitting it. The game is ok, looks good, captures a certain D&D style of play well enough, but there's not enough game for me to warrant a fee. Plus, the Eberron setting is very uninspiring.
