For me, for the time being Im having fun playing WoW. Yeah its getting a little old but pvp rewards are pretty nice and new content is on the horizon. That will easily tide me over till one of the above named games is released.

I am video games addict. And the only games i like right now are MMOs.
I am actually becoming seriously depressed if i can not play a good game.
Not kidding. And i know what i am talking about because i am also cigarette smoker , so not having a decent game to play for me is almost like suddenly running out of cigs when your body goes on a nicotine crave mod. And you start desperately searching the house for some pack you lost somwhere. Even being ready to drive to other town on sunday morning to buy a package ... (btw - if you are non smoker who is reading this - learn something )

It's a shame you don't like EVE Rattrap I'm so glad that I do because even though I do look forward to new games at least I have a solid one to call home even though I wander away periodically to try out new stuff

AoC concerns me because I do not want to play another raiding = better than other PvE players game. But it has some new/interesting gameplay and the PvP stuff might be good.
Warhammer concerns me because while the class system will be quite differnt than EQ clones, I think the gameplay itself will not. I think it wil lbe fun and do a good job of representing the Warhammer art and world, but after a while the same old auto attack/tab targetting/stand there and hit hot buttons gets kinda boring. At lest CoX has stuff like super jump etc.
Tabula Rasa I don't really know, but its semi-new gameplay and its Richard "f'ing I created two of the seminal CRPGs and MMORPGs of all time" Garriot. I hope they do not have tab tageting and only reticle targeting like Neocron, but I think they will bow down to the mouthbreathers and allow target locks.
My biggest hopes are on Tabula Rasa, the other ones might be ok.

Totally forgot about this thread, some great input. One thing about Stargate that will be awesome is it's using the unreal 3 engine. I think right now the only other one to do this is SUN but I could(probably) be wrong. Also the rumors of a Firefly mmo, a privateer type of game could be interesting.
But doing some math, BioWare is bringing Dragon Age end of 2008ish? So the mmo is way way off. Here's a thought perhaps it will be a DragonAge mmo. Who knows....

No EvE aint complex it looks like it does at the beginning but after 1 month you understand the basic formulas and get bored becouse you jump 20 system to look for some PvP action yawn or you set up a camp at a gate and wait some hours ...
Zeb Cook didn't strike me as a particularly inspired designer during his time working for Cryptic, infact he couldn't even pull off "Bases" which was really the only task he was given there and if you've ever built bases in CoH, you know just how underwhelming they really are. So yeah, it could potentially be a real Flop.
Someone mentioned Tabula Rasa... How's that coming along? I don't know anything about the design but it sounds like it might have a really good community and those can usually hold a MMO player over even when the gameplay fails.
I really like this topic and the posts. A lot of truth in here. Many of the posts made me laugh The MMO scene is kinda sad. And I've become an MMO addict since I started FF11 several years ago. Playing single player RPG's offline are just kinda boring now for me. I've got to have a guild, community or someone to talk (type) to. Just knowing there are people like me out there is very comforting
I tried the open Beta for Vanguard and it is just so laggy with my computer. I guess my 1gig of memory is now substandard. But I don't feel like spending at least a 100 bucks just to play 1 game right now. Once that income tax money comes I'll upgrade the memory though lol. The game play seemed like nothing great. Although I've seen some posts say you need to 20-30 levels to really see this game get going. But if the game doesn't grab me within the 1st 10 levels its really hard for me to stick around. Lag kills the experience for me every time.
I'm sure I'll try LOTR. I love the books and the movies so I guess that rates me a fan boy right? And I'll prob try WAR and maybe AOC since it seems like a lot of peps here are looking forward to it. And possibly COS.
I'll just have to get my MMO fix with WoW for now. I'm sure the expansion will keep me occupied for a while. It took me a while to get to level 60 so I'm sure gettin' to level 70 will also take me a good while. And I feel very lucky I've found a guild I really enjoy in WoW. Plus my good friend and his son play in the same guild And I've met 2 other friends that play WoW. We've been playin' some old school pen & paper once a week for several months now. That's also a nice diversion until the next MMO grabs my attention. Some how I always talk my buds and my brother to play the MMO I'm enjoying. The community/friends can keep you playing a MMO even after the game gets a little tiresome.
Here's hoping/wishing/praying at least one kick butt MMO comes out this year that everyone can enjoy. No matter if your a WoW fanboy, EQ fanboy, EVE fanboy or what have you!
