Free Weapon

So I received the "Game of the Year" edition, or something like that, that says inside the cover flap on the box that I will get a unique weapon only available to owners of this special edition.

So how does one obtain it?

I got that edition too. I haven't tried it in-game yet, but I've been told you type /bonus to get the weapons. They have pretty high requirements according to GWWiki, like the shield requries Tactics 9 I think.

Usually most "bonus" items that are a promtional piece like those are obtained by typing /bonus like the other poster said.  This being said, I'm not 100% familiar with the GotY items.

There is a list with stats & pictures on GW-wiki. The command is /bonus or /bonusitems, be sure to have enough room in inventory because the characters gets all at once (you can only do the command only once per character).

The requirements are almost the lowest possible for maximum stats & bonuses. There are 8 req items with max bonuses & stats but those are really rare (& expensive).

Not exactly: you can have 1 copy of each special weapon on one character at any given time, but if you delete one or all of them, you can just /bonus again and get them again. Furthermore, since they're customized, you can give e.g. the shield to a Hero (if you own Nightfall) and spawn another one for yourself.

All this obviously doesn't apply to per-account items, like Collector's Edition minipets, which are spawned only once and for all.

Wow, that rocks! I knew you could do the /bonus multiple times but never saw the use once you had the equipment you needed. I just tried and now I have to go through and give my heros all the uber goodies.

That's exactly why I bought them from the store (yes, you can if you have the old edition of Prophecies, for 4.49€ I think): couldn't be arsed to find stuff to equip them with, or get it from collectors
