A new hope?

I'm rearly intrested to know from anyone who has played the vanguard beta and pre-cu/nge SWG, if there are any of the good aspects from SWG that are in VSoH. Ive not seen anyone else make any comparisons between the two, but looking over the stuff i can get on vanguard. It looks like there could be some hope for us old SWG vets - oh and is monk anything like TKA?

It reminds me of WOW with no PVP and takes ALOT longer to level up. It has some features that can be said to be taken from SWG like Player housing and it's abit more sandboxy that other mmorpgs but thats it tbh.

well i hate blizzard and wow and honestly if i seen one thing in vanguard that reminded me of it i would drop it like a hot coal , except the UI because any idiot lknows there all the same anyway lol I wish i could help you i never played SWG so i couldnt tell you much there. i just hate these SOE hating people  on this forums trying to steer people away from vanguard cause they have a hard on for SOE

the game does have a pvp server running in open beta , but i havent played on it so couldnt tell you much there either lol just wanted to point out how little the above poster knows about vanguard oh but he is right it does take longer to level up which is great ,you actually get to enjoy the game instead of going through the first 10 levels so fast that the start of the game good or bad wouldnt really matter cause you would never remember that 1/2 hour  anyway like gee i dont know WoW maybe

The only thing this game has in common with SWG is it's an MMORPG.

Just another Vanboi tbh. I've been playing since beta 3 and it is very much like WOW but without the fun factor or being polish and the fact its shit lol

It's AS or MORE complex then Pre-CU SWG, and anyone that tells you different hasn't played Pre-CU or gone past LVL 10 in Vanguard..

I played SWG from Beta to the NGE, and I've play Vanguard Beta from the beginning of Beta 3. The only thing I hate is the Level system, but what can you do? Once you get into the game, it becomes AMAZINGLY complex. Crafting & the Faction system are actually more complex then SWG, and the combat takes Pre-CU to the next Level.

The game is not perfect, but I will be playing it. It's the first game I've craved to play since Pre-CU.

Yeah, I haven't taken a sick day to play a Video game since Ultima Online. Yesterday I did to play Vanguard (and do laundry) and had a blast. If you have the system, there isn't a more intriguing game available. I just love how the game looks and plays, it's sweet. It's not perfect at all and has some bugs but I just couldn't play anything else.

And the animations look perfect if you have the ram, so tired of hearing B.S. about the animations lol

The graphics remind me a lot of SWG, as far as gameplay I can see some similarities but still it is a fantasy mmorpg not sci-fi star wars...and I haven't gotten played into high levels yet but i hear it is pretty hardcore/complex like swg once was.
