Last night there was a thread with a url. Within that url was what everyone thought was a keylogger. Many people, including me, was tricked into clicking/downloading it... That thread was deleted apperently and with in that thread was help for the people who downloaded the HTTP file with the keylogger on it. For the people who was helping us out and was scanning for the keylogger using avast and other VS'. Please reply on this thread if you found a way how to get rid of it, and how to. Or if there was even a key logger attached to that file.
Thanks.

Also I have avast running at my house as we speak. I am at school right now ^_^.
Anyone know if that will get rid of it?
Does anyone know the name of the keylogger?
Thanks again.

it, it was a download for a HTML file. You downloaded it and upon the opening of this
file, it was a site, or rather a interactive picture of the site (html).
Just a note here, barring a bug in your browser of running on low security settings simply clicking a hyperlink will normally not install a key logger by itself. You almost always need to take the further step of clicking on the ensuing pop up or applet contained on then web page.
What you need to be cautious about is that a person writing such a web page can put whatever message they want on the button so they can write a popup with a button you click to a key logger and then label the button Close. You should never, ever click on any part of a popup even a close button or an X.
The only X you can actually trust is the true windows Widget, if it looks any different then the X in the top right of your browser do not use it. If in doubt close the popup from the task bar, or close the web page that spawned it.
Also as always if anything suddenly asks you to install/download/permission for anything, CLOSE IT.
Edit: to clarify it was not on the mmorpg.com-domain but some russian ISP.
but goes to show have to be carefull these days:)
