    Apparently BC's main strength is the two new races.  *Unenthused hurray* another reason to grind to 70...  Yeah, it comes out with some other cool stuff, but it's really nothing more than other games come out with in their free expansions.  By comparison, EVE knocks WoW's socks off by offering entire new game mechanics in their free expansions.

    As far as WoW being passe, it's statistic of 7 million accounts tells us that everyone and their mom has played WoW.  Yes, it's old.

    Think it cus theres far less WoW'ers here because offical forums are so complete and unlike other games players know what they're getting no need to hype it.  Personaly I cant wait to get back to some PvE and finaly blizz have scrapped 40man raids, 5man raids are always more fun and theres lots of that in TBC.

    That and almost everyone has beta tested it already for a month or more. Unless they pull something completely unexpected on release day there isn't a whole lot new or interesting since the betas started.

    The way I see it, BC is nothing but a lifesupport. If these new MMOs wont totally screw things up, then honestly, what can WoW offer to compete with them? More procisely, what is there (BC) to be hyping about (that these new games wont deliver)? Because I can't see one thing.

    Of course, outside MMORPG.com things are propaply little different (newbies and chinese).
  • TheFighterTheFighter Member Posts: 90

    There is alot of talk about TBC in the actual game its self. Just because some fanboy isnt spamming it on these forums doesnt mean the hype for TBC has burnt out already. I enjoy playing WoW very much and greatly look forward to the new expansion.

    Oh and busdriver your comment "Of course, outside MMORPG.com things are propaply (Nice spelling btw) little different (newbies and chinese)."  I can see your arrogence and that like most people who flame wow, fanboy another MMO, probably EVE.

    Damn right - they added 20 more faction to grind and a handful of dungeons.

    With the heroic dungeon mode they recycled their just created content. You grind teh same dungeon over and over again,

    only the mobs are harder.

    The also added:
    • 7 new zones to explore in outlands
    • 100+ new quests
    • 10 dungeons (all can be run with 5-25man) with 2 levels of difficulty
    • Flying mounts
    • Inc craftng cap to 375 and loads of new recipes
    • New socket proffession
    • Armour can be enhanced with jewles made from new jewelcrafting profession.
    • 2-3 diferent types of T4 and T5 armour sets

    • Inc level cap to 70
    • PvP arena and ladder
    • A new PvP Battle ground
    • 2 New races
    • World PvP objectives in every new zone
    • 2 New stating zones for the new races
    • Over 40 new mobs to WTFpwn
    • New spells and talents for each class

    Name 1 MMO that does not grind and offers the chance (does not force you) to run the same dungeon over and over.. come on name 1.

    Crafting = grind

    Housing = grind (grind for mats to make stuff)

    Leveling = grind

    Raiding = grind

    Reputati with factions = grind

    all mmo's are a grind.

    EVE Online. Grind is absolutely unneccessary :), hey wait there is no grind, its like you get exp in EVE from grinding.
  • SnarlbuckleSnarlbuckle Member Posts: 22
    EVE.

    Yes, you can grind in eve (Mining, ratting, missions).  You can also make a perfectly good living in EVE without grinding at all.  You can do merc contracts,  fleet battles, politics, market whoring, or any number of unique things.  If you really really want to do the same missions over and over with your buddies, there's always Dedspace complexes and lvl 4 agent missions.

    Grind if you want to, kill someone if you don't.

    WoW = pwnt.

    Because this forum is not a good reflection of the MMORPG genre in general in any way or form. The niche and little played MMORPG's are here every day topics, and big games are pretty much ignored and even hated.

    I would be more excited about the expansion if they added new classes to it. I played WoW for 2 years (counting from early closed beta) and have played all the classes to death. Adding the two new races does not make me want to resub to it at all.  (though the bloodelf area is pretty cool).

    If only 1 third of subscribers buy BC, it'll be a smash hit.  People may criticize Blizzard, but they've obviously done something right.

    Well... Eh, BC isn't hyped for a good reason... It isn't worth hyping over. From BC betaing (Before banning, won it in 11-19 honor contest) it still isn't what it could or should be for that matter. Outland is cool, but as much as i enjoy artistic zones, i enjoy gameplay even more and there really isnt all that much BC has to offer in addition to WoW as-is.

    Rofl...your one to talk about spelling.. "ARROGENCE" lawl...

    Anyways..back on topic. Im not terribly excited. I feel as one of the previous posters wrote "its Life support". For me thats exactly what it is. Nothing that I can tell that is being released is going to be terribly game breaking.

    Wanna get me all wet blizzard? This is what I want.

    I want new classes!! New races are ok...but new classes makes me smile.

    I want REAL PVP. Give me some big ass RvR-ish KEEP taking and that would get me hot and bothered. Wouldnt that just be sick!! Go to outlands and pull up a map that looks like a RvR BattleMap of Towers and Keeps. That right there would be the hotness.

    Unless that happens I will be moving on to Warhammer, Age of Conan or Darkfall.

    wrong.

    Sad that other companies don't have enough $$$ to make something new.
  • KremlikKremlik Member UncommonPosts: 716

    I agree with the statement 'overpriced mess' simply because in the UK gamestation 'claim' the RRP is £30, it's an expantion not a full game (like GW, at least if offers a 'game' that doesn't require another game to play), not even EQ has gone that high with even it's 'massive' content versons.. The only reason I wanted TBC was in the hope that Outland World PVP content was actally half desnet and raiding was one less streefull and two more entertaining then the tank and spank most instancing is atm..

    I've pre-ordered it but I'm still spilt between that and Vanguard to fill the 'gap' between now and AoC/TCoS (which lead to WAR at last :)), as Vanguard (although at this time is 'unfinished') offers the same quality of content as WoW does but actally bothers considering PvP as PvP not a 'bonus game', and doesn't have that annoying 'epeen' community that WoW has

    Bring on the WARRRRGGHH!

    Burning Crusade was a reason to quit for me.  I suppose I couldv'e played some of my 60's up to 70, then a new blood elf from 1-70 and then... discovered that it was just going to be the same lame crap at lvl 70 that it was at lvl 60

    if I were to kill a titan tomorrow and no CCP employees showed up to say grats I would petition it.
    Waiting for: the next MMO that lets me make this macro
    if hp < 30 then CastSpell("heal") SpellTargetUnit("player") else CastSpell("smite") end

  • nomadiannomadian Member Posts: 3,490

    I feel like it's already been released months already... probably because of all the beta stuff. Not really hyped about it as I don't see myself returning to WoW.

  • CleffyIICleffyII Member, Newbie CommonPosts: 3,440

    I really don't see whats to be excited about with the expansion.  There really isn't any new gameplay aspects to the game.  Just more of whats already in the game.  New Races, New Professions, New Maps, New Instance Dungeons, New Raid Items, New Recipes, More Skills, More Quests.  I admit the ladder pvp is interesting, and depending on how the pvp world objectives are done it could be interesting.  I mean aside from PVP, Raiding, Getting Recipes, Creating a New Toon, and exploring the new areas.  What are you gonna do?  I mean you already did all that stuff from 1-60 in the game.  I can easily play through that content in a week and be bored.  This is what I expect out of the monthly updates they have, not of an expansion.  Just adding something else to do in the game would have made it better worthy to buy, like player housing to give the player an attachment to the world or even something as simple as Mounted Combat.
