Well I am back again

Having played and test different game since this summer , I am fairly disapointed with what I saw, of the 2 games I tought I'd be playing at release (vanguard and Lotr)

Their both ''good'' in my opinion but it seems they dont offer what im looking for the most...immersion and attachement. Maybe its because Im looking too hard to have the same feeling I had when I entered the virtual world of my first mmorpg (which is Daoc) I dont know, it seem everytime I try a new game, im comparing it to Dark age.

Maybe its the choices? Why does developper think having less than 10 races and less than 20 class is good in a game played by thousand of peoples? I like to be unique or feel like Iam  by having multiple choices at the beginning

And dont give me the balance issue, I care less about the overpower classes. If you can't beat it solo, bring a damn friend,there is always a way around it.

Anyway, Iam back again for the fourth time and having load of fun, Thidranki was awsome last night with my wizard Karno and im glad to see I haven't lost the touch lol

Glad to hear you can still have fun.  I truly relate to your feelings regarding the other games out there.  I haven't really found one that has grabbed me like others in the past.  Maybe we never will.

Well to the point in hand, with the lower population do you still feel like you have fun playing DAoC?  I really think that game was great but as most other people moved on then the viability of the best’s parts of the game became less and less attractive.

Are you running al the new expansions or just still having fun with the core stuff?

I got all the expension, I bought Lab of the minautore prior to resubbing 2 days ago, I started the new mauler class and I was greatly impress with the new quest system/window they put in. It kinda look like wow when you get your quest and you see what items you will get to choose.For the first time ever, I actually read the whole quest and not just jump to the end where it says go there and kill this guy.

Since im on classic, I dont really feel the low pop numbers. I had no problem finding a group to hunt with 2 night ago with my mauler (we were all in the range 15-18) and with the bonuse they give by hunting in SI , there a lot more people going there I think.

I cant really talk about the new expension since the guild I was in lost is alliance and ..hum most of its members hehehe but there is some good one out there with lots of members and Im sure they will welcome my 50 pali with open arms

 

BTW I started my mauler in albion and with all the new quest and reward, I think this game is more newb friendly than ever. At level 10 I had a full armor,weapons and all my magical slot had something in them.There is a ton of quest in costwold ,ludlow and around this area. I was killing dwarf raiders, stealing their supplies, opening their chest, lots of fun !!

Patch day today, mythic is implementing the new craft system and giving a bonus to the whole classic area.Geat thing because the last time I left was because i got burned on doing Task dungeon.

I really like the fact they are giving us extra rewards for leveling out in the open worlds of SI and Classic zones.  They seem realize that instances from catacombs dont appeal to everyone, and really makes the game a cold, lonely place. 

The game really is a lot of fun now, and I'm glad to see we have another player (even if you are a stinking Alb).  I look forward to putting a few arrows into your new Alb in the near future.

Why?  Given tbe poor beta reviews, it being an EQ knock off, and no RvR, why would this appeal to anymore than a handful of people?  If DAOC players did not leave for WoW, they certainly won't leave for Vanguard. 



Perhaps when Conan comes out you might notice a population hit and certainly with WAR, but regardless of how well, or not so well this game does, it is not going to hurt DAOC population.
