    i don;t think so..  b/c:

Imagine how big server they would need to make AH.. Remember GW isn;t divided into servers so we would have propably 1 AH for europe, 1 for uS etc.

It would be useless.. in gw ppl only sell weapons.  making something as big as AH just to sell a weapon? no thanks I would prefer something else.

I still can't understand why everyone wants an auction house. I suspect so they can artificially jack prices up without having to do any work. i.e. easy scamming. I don't like the idea of being forced to log in every day just to check if my scams...uhhh wares...sold. As the previous post states, the only thing that needs to be handled is the sale of weapons. All the pretty little things like candy canes and such can be left to the scammer...uhhh sorry, seller. I am sure the other suggestion will be to have a person be able to be logged in to have a personal shop....please nooooooo! I still have nightmares of Lineage II towns with all the people sitting in the streat with meaningful signs over their heads worded to suck you into their scam...uhhh shop.

As for weapons, why not just a weapons trader that works exactly like the dye and materials traders?

For all of you people who think an auction house is needed...WoW has an AH. Why are you trying to turn GW into WoW? Hmmmm. WoW fanboy conspiricy to make GW as monotonous as WoW? LMAO, just sillyness...or is it?!

GW is easily just as monotonous as WoW don't kid yourslef. Besides I'd rather have an AH than walking around Lions Arch for an hour trying to sell my shit. It is very time consuming and pointless because I believe GW could be a much superior game to the current crop of crap that is out right now if they just add some more conventional features. And don't try to argue that fact by bashing WoW which is a totally different game and It's also a game that I can't stand.

    (edit)

And anyways there is a large base of players using websites to buy and trade items with ingame currency anyways the problem is it's all a big hassle and takes too much time.

You are the type of person I dont want defending Guild Wars because you make idiotic reasons.  And your "uhh scams" bit was stupid.  An Auction House would make things easier but it would become flooded as weapons aren't bought or crafted they drop and they drop a LOT.  So if everyone put up their lowly purple weapons there'd be thousands and thousands of purple FDS's.  Also, since the weapons stats on even a Purple FDS can vary enough to make it where there would be about 45-50 variations of a FDS again, you'd be talking about too huge of a list.  I cant speak for WoW but I can for FFXI (which *shock* has an Auction House) but there is one type of specific weapons.  A Centurion Sword is a Centurion Sword.  There's not 15 with different degress of damage or different degrees of sundering.  The most variation you have in a sword or armor is +1 (or high quality).  So you have 2 options.

Please, next time, think out your reasoning before just smashing your head into the keyboard trying to come up with a response.

    EVE - Sharvala
    FFXI - Shazamalicious
Guild Wars - Xavier Lucifer & Charlize the Necro

And you are the type of person who should go over to WoW or *gasp* FFXI where they have your precious auction house. I am not defending GW, I am giving an alternative viewpoint to the lemmings that keep the auction house chant going and tried to open up peoples minds to other possibilities. It seems, no matter how good a game is, it's never good enough for anyone. I come to forums to have interesting conversation on constructive topics and I see the same crud from people with "idioic reasons". So, with great sarcasm I decided to throw in my two cents. I guess sarcasm and sillyness don't fly when you make a case against the all knowing. I'm sorry, let me revise. Please...oh gods, make this game that I love playing into something else to satisfy a bunch of people who think they know all! Is that better?

My POINT was that: One I don't want to be forced to log in to check sales, update them and screw around with pricing. Two, if there is an auction house, that is a perfect forum for people to run scams. Three, there are alternatives that would work just as well or better, in my opinion.

Why is it I don't run around selling weapons for hours (I won't mention spamming the local channel because I am special or don't know how to use a trade tab...that's a whole other topic) and YET still have plenty of money for everything I need? I guess I am doing things wrong. So please, give us an auction house so I can listen to hours of griping about scammers...something that doesn't get complained about much in GW compaired to other MMOs I have played.

Also, for a long time now, the other gripe about GW was getting teams. No interface, oh dear lords of GW we NEED something to be able to advertise PUGs. It's there now, after all the pressure from people to put it in because they want to make the game better and know all, the griping has stopped and yet I still get bombarded with "LFG for mission...masters" when I enter an area. Nobody clicks the search button and fills out the info. An auction house would be the same thing, especially if there were no way to exploit it because, lets face it, the only reason people run around spamming local for sales is to get a ridiculously high price for the weapons which, as you pointed out, drop pretty regularily.

So, why wouldn't a "Weapons Trader" work? Let me try to answer my question. It's because you couldn't artificially jack the prices. It's the only reason I can see. Take dye as an example. Why do people insist on yelling "Selling black dye for 8k" when there is a dye trader that will give you a pretty good sum for that "rare" drop. Because people always want more for nothing, they are never satisfied and need a way to work around the system.

If there was an auction house, they could put brown dye and advertise it as black for only 7k and a person in a hurry would get scammed and I would have to listen to people complaining about the scammers, reporting them to every forum they sign into, and spam me about how "so and so is a scammer don't buy from him". But that's not all, I also get to listen to people defend the scammer and how the buyer was stupid doing idiotic things.

As for the web sites, they exist as yet another avenue for people to try to get more money for not doing anything without even having to put in the effort to sell the stuff. Because they are there doesn't make them right but seriously, they don't affect me so I don't care. I don't have to listen to the complaints about scams from them, I don't have to log in to check anything and I don't have to doublecheck everything I do to keep from getting scammed because of them. They are no insignifigant and no argument to get an auction house.

I'll keep my opinion and not be swayed by your weak arguments and attacks, thank you very much. By the way, the above was heavily laced with tons of sarcasm, just so you know and don't accuse me of being stupid and slamming my forehead into the keyboard, again.

that is your opinion, and i think you need to keep them to yourself about ah's , we do not need one in gw, and if you spend hours selling stuff in around towns, you are cheesy and have them jacked up so high no one wants your crap to use, so salvage it or vendor trash it.
