Which servers still live?

I haven't played for *ages*, I've still got a nice, well worn renaissance manual from the second time I got into the game again. However, after checking Siege and Oceania, my old servers, on the free trial, I can't seem to find anyone who is still alive.



So, where's the community concentrated these days, and is it still worth playing, now it's item dependant?

Atlantic, Europe shard, and siege are prolly the only 3 where you'll get a community.

And is it worth to come back? Well it's easy to get the items you want but it will take awhile. It is still a fun game but it is different than from the last time you played.

Ah. My main worry is that it's impossible to do whatever without them - power scrolls are bad, but I can deal with that. I don't want to have to run out and do this new fangled Doom dungeon thirty times to get some artifacts, then have to spend 3k everytime I die just to keep them, or essentially stop playing.

Well for PvP you need powerscrolls because if you don't have 120 in a weapon or magery your pretty much useless. You can PvM fairly well with gm skills though. I have never steped foot in doom but I have a few artifacts. You can now get minor arties in Ilsh but they aren't all that good for PvP. Most your armor your gonna have to buy from a vendor that sells runic leather it's fairly expensive. Everything is run by money in UO. People have alot of it in this game. So if you already have a developed character it be boring. But if you train up a character and just save your money and get a free piece of gm armor.In the end you will have enough money to start buying the runic leather.

Yes, Europa is busy still. If you need the items depends on what are are planning on doing in UO. Most of my chars don't need them at all.

I was thinking of coming back what does Baja look like? Does wintermoor still exist on Atlantic?

great lakes still has a good population...always a lot of people around brit doom and malas....

I play on Lake Superior and the community is pretty good.  A couple people are doing an excellent job keeping the community together through community hunts and events that occur every weekday.

Chesapeake is running strong !   I've come back after 5 years and have found it to be very populated and the community has been top notch so far.  Great roleplaying, helpful guilds, all is good on Chessy. 

I looked at Sonoma, that was dead, and Napa Valley didnt look too good either.  So, I would recommend Atlantic or Chespeake.

Atl's always been my favorite shard in the game, its  easily one of the biggest populations and best pvp  however it  now appears to be the bussiness capital of uo. people on less populated  servers such as baja spamchamp spawns etc then xfer to Atl with the items b/c vip and other guilds make doin champs a challenge and they control most of the scrolls.  Arties are not all important,  especially if you pvm.  In fact almost no good pvpers use arty weps. However, you do need very good items iand skills in order to compete with  9 year vets or anyone for that matter who is a good pvper. take it from a guy  with one blue on all his accts and servers
