Forced Grouping = Relationships?

Ever get the feeling that those who demand forced grouping in MMos are really looking to hook up? That's kind of a creepy train of thought actually. Imagine some guy forcing an office to be in teams because he wants to get closer to a girl in the office.

I know this sounds straight out of left field, but I remeber some post on the WoW forums before the game launched, written by a guy who demanded that players only be allowed to play thier actual sex. Apparently he was tired of courting "sin" by hitting on a female character that was really played by a guy. There overall response from the community was "It's a game, not a dating service".

But seriously, while else would soloing offend groupers so much. They say it encourages socialization. Really? So you can't socialize unless the game forces you too? I don't believe that.

Just thought I post an idea on the subject. Feel free to reply, not to flame.

Forced grouping is for those that lack the social skills to adequately work with other. They are encouraged by an enviornment that supports thier shortcomings... and encourages the ability to develop institutional prejudice and hatemongering.

If everyone is forced to group, then they can not be forced to deal with individuals on a 1 on 1 basis... and this makes it easier to group those that they dont like, and encourage hate and prejudice against them. It prevents an individual from separating from the group that they have been stuck with, and to allow those who would not be able to compete individually, to dominate a group with thier negative personality.

It is a very simple solution, to an age old problem. If someone is better, drag them down to your level. This forces everyone to the lowest common denominator, where those that were once on the bottom can now gain revenge on those that would have been above them.
